Yeah, I'm such a big advocate for all animals' rights issues but sometimes I have a hard time seeing how something would or wouldn't be detrimental. There are also issues with the Sketchers Superbowl commercial where the French Bulldog races greyhounds. I know this one is really not good (why did they pick greyhounds; there are lots of other fast dogs), but once you've seen that little bulldog in the Sketchers shoes you kind of forget what the commercial is even about

Hmmm...Career Builder using chimps AGAIN? Why didn't somebody make that complaint before?
Personally, I've never been a fan of 'chimps as entertainment', anyway...60-plus years of TV, and however many of movies and vaudeville(not to mention YouTube)...and people STILL think it's funny when a chimp(or an orangutan) wears a little suit, does that stupid 'smile', goes, 'EEEE EEEE AHHH AHHH'(chimp) or just 'PBBBBBBTH!'(orangutan), and seemingly shakes/nods its head 'yes' or 'no'? The audience for this crap has been 'trained' as well as the primates!

I've never really been able to take this comments seriously, myself. I don't doubt there are some extremely retarded people who WOULD try to go out and get a chimp or other animal as a pet, but they're an extreme minority. Even your average idiot knows enough to see the difference between a captive highly trained domesticated animal used in a movie/commercial and buying a wild-caught one from a guy in a back alley. Even so, poachers who capture and sell wild animals as pets usually ask extremely outrageous fees for the animals, and the average idiot seeking this out could never afford it.
Why not compromise and just ask for a simple disclaimer to be added, or to put in an extra two seconds promoting a charity dedicated to endangered animals? All this hullabaloo will probably do these charities more harm than good, since they've gone out of their way to basically say that all/most/the majority of Americans are extreme idiots who will go out and buy a chimp because they saw one on television. I watched George Burns a LOT as a child, and I never asked for a pet chimp.

 )Another problem with owning a chimp as a pet is that they're a lot stronger than you and can rip your face or arm off with ease, if they're ticked off for some reason. And if it's a horny male, well....

Mind you, I've seen enough things on the internet to know there's probably a market for that...at the very least, there'd be a lot of dead frogs in the house.
