The flashing of similar ads doesn't really annoy me (the flashing didn't load for this one for me), but how would they know if you are really the 999,999th (millionth, thousandth, so on) visitor?
I tried one of those things (out of self-destructive curiosity) and the "offers" were from sleazy sites, many of them were trying to sell medicine. Some of them organize the offers in order of undesirability. "Silver" offers (which you don't have to do as many of them), "Gold" offers (relatively skeezy sites), and "Platinum" (which are things like deals with the devil, medicine, etc). But before that they pelt you with "bonus" offers (they trick you into doing a few and you get nothing out of it) shown as a nearly never-ending survey. If I had to do these offers, I'd choose the deal with the devil. I'll lose my soul versus my future credit history if I chose Vidiot "Professor" (intentional misspelling). |

Shoulda lasted longer. It ended just as I was going into a trance.
When you leave SF at sunset via the Bay Bridge, the sun coming through between the vertical beams on the lower deck, creates a strobe effect. It's quite pleasant. Probably not good if you're an epileptic or prone to catatonic stupors, though.

That banner ad reminds me of The Simpsons episode where the family goes to Japan, and they're watching a program called "Japanese Seizure Robots" on the TV in their hotel room - and anybody that looks at the boob tube starts seizing, their eyes bug out, and then they fall down.

Sounds funny...but no more preposterous than the game show I watched the other night, called Hurl. Yes, it's actually about hurling.
From Wikipedia:
A "hurl" is defined on the show as any swallowed food that comes out of the mouth. If a player vomits into their mouth and it does not come out, it is not a "hurl".
But for some reason, they don't show the actual regurgitae. I don't know why. They might as well.

Hate to pop your bubble Reg., but it makes no difference which browser one uses. I use blockers on Chrome, Opera and IE.
