Walgreens and Creedence Clearwater Revival.  Seriously, Walgreens?  You f*cking faceless conglomerate.
Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.

Ugh another company trying to dress up themselves as a Mom & Pop business. Get over it Walgreens you're the reason smaller companies like Brooks and Eckerd are out of business!!! At least Walmart didn't do this Censored when it was their 50th anniversary! They did a little "50 years" icon at the bottom of the screen to celebrate it.

Confusedyuppers, Em.
Noticed this commercial, also.
Feels all wrong - but I refuse to shop at Walgreen's anyway.

Not too far away, we've a Walgreen's right across the street from a Rite Aid.

The Walgreens is as fancy as can be.

I also did a price comparison between the two chains; the difference was shocking (Rite Aid was MUCH cheaper).

I've got two Walgreens, a Rite-Aid and a brand new CVS within a few miles of me.  Three of these stores are within a quarter mile of each other.

I guess they figured that "Down on the Corner" is enough of a connection to Walgreens, to use the song in the ad.  But in a way, they're right.  Walgreens are on lots of corners---everywhere!

I actually really like John Corbett as an actor. It makes me sad that he does the voice-overs for this and all the stupid Applebee's commercials.Unhappy

Wotta crocka shyte! The Walgreens near me is NOT on a corner. It's in the middle of the block!

At one time, there was a Duane Reade, Walgreens AND a Rite Aid on the same stretch of street here. The Duane Reade and Rite Aid have since closed but the Walgreens (the most recent addition to the neighborhood) remains. Thank goodness there's a CVS a few blocks from my house. I get my prescriptions there.

My mom works at Walgreens, and trust me--she hates it as much as I do. The ad involving the two pharmacist douchebags at the counter scrambling around annoys her to no end--no one else helps out the pharmacist. It's just him/her, but the ad makes it look like everyone's scrambling around to help.
