If it takes reality smut such as High School Reunion and The Cougar to keep TVBLAND running, I'd rather this channel not exist at all.

C'mon people! Who else besides me is aggravated by the constant smattering of promos for The Cougar--on channels OTHER than TVBland??

It's already off the air in my opinion. I haven't watched this channel in a while, for all the reasons we have posted in past threads. This channel sucks and since many people have tried to bring to their attention the types of programs we want to see and they don't want to listen.....screw them!

Ditto what Meinga said. I watch Andy & Barney every now and then and those Cougar banners/popups are all over the screen.
It's really fruitless to make numerous complaints about TVLand here, just look at their message board.

I do hate the direction this channel is taking, but to be fair they do still have more good shows than most channels. The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acers, Andy Griffith, etc. My biggest complaint about it is the godawful neverending ads they run for their reality garbage, the big banners in the corner of the screen that never go away, the popups, etc. It makes it hard to enjoy watching an old show when that Cougar skank gets shoved in your face during every commercial break, or that idiotic High School Reunion show where they are all obviously actors working from a very bad script.
There's another channel I watch at night now that shows Family Ties, Happy Days and a few other old shows. I forget the name, seems to be a bit religious oriented though. Also WGN America shows a lot of classic shows every Sunday night. ![]() |

Another beef I have with TVLand, is their need to have commercials 27 minutes into the show. Then back to maybe 1-2 minutes(or less) of the ending.

I wish TV Land would go back to playing the old shows again...not this reality crap!
Shows that are prior to 1979 SHOULD be seen, not anything since 1979! |

If they want more veiwers they should put some really cool shows back on, like the rat patrol. What could possibly draw in more veiwers than a show about guys in jeeps that blow up tanks?

Has anyone seen the ad where the guy is crying, and the "cougar" is touched, and the guy says "homina, homina, homina"?

TV Land mostly sucks. The TV Land prime is a waste of the channel. Roseanne and Cosby should be sent back to Nick at Nite. And I won't even mention the reality shows. The only one I will comment on is "TV's Myths and Legends". At least it went along with what the channel supposedly was made for-classic shows. At least around where I live, since digital tv is kicking in, our local channel 4 has spawned a channel called 4.2. Half the time it shows paid programming, BUT the other half are shows like Marcus Welby, Adam-12, Rockford Files, Dragnet, ect.Real classic tv.

I'm SO glad "The Cougar" finally ended so now I can watch Roseanne literally nonstop
![]() Seriously, every single time I check my DirecTV guide, TVLand's got literally nothing but Roseanne on it, and it's been that way for about 2 weeks now. That's if I even bother to scroll down that far to begin with. |

Sounds like what they call RTV. That must be the channel 4.2 someone else mentioned, since stations seem to like airing it as a DTV subchannel. You're right about the religious bent (bent? right? get it?): RTV just got bought by Bob Schuller, son of the Hour Of Power minister. |

Link the Fink has posted an update on the message board and it has to be read to be believed.
Negative comments are no longer allowed and will get you banned. According to him, the negative comments are influencing others to stop watching TV Land. It, of course, has nothing to do with their lousy reality shows and 6 hours of Roseanne every night. |

http://forums.tvland.com/tvln/board/message?board.id=programcomments&thread.id=31737
...............................................................................................................................
The purpose of this board is to provide an avenue for TV Land viewers to express their opinions concerning current TV Land programming. However, it is expected that those opinions will be made with a certain level of dignity and decorum. Derogatory comments about the network and/or its staff will be treated as are any other derogatory comments about individuals (i.e., as a violation of the Terms of Use applicable to these Forums and removed). Derogatory comments about those with different interests in television viewing will receive similar treatment.
Comments suggesting that TV Land should return to only classic television programming are no longer appropriate for discussion on this board. TV Land is a network programming with a combination of classic television, newer vintage shows, originals and movies. It is not going to return to its earlier days of classic television programming and any requests in that regard are no longer relevant discussion.
Also, if you no longer are going to be a TV Land viewer, then this board is not for you. This board is for those watching the network or desiring to do so. Attempts to discourage others from viewing or otherwise trying to damage TV Land's viewership will be removed as a violation of the Terms of Use. Discussions of your alternative viewing choices should be made on the Other Networks and Their Shows board.
As with any policy, it is not possible to anticipate every discussion. Thus, what is appropriate and inappropriate for this board and the Forums may need adjustment as situations and discussion progress. Some past discussions may no longer be appropriate, so, one should not assume that one can get around the policies applicable to this board by trying to revive an old thread. Your cooperation as these situation arise and are handled as well as your abiding by the rules established will be greatly appreciated and facilitate making this a more productive board both for TV Land and you.
Thank you.
This board, as well as the station itself has gone down the toilet. The Link is firmly in bed with TV Land. |

I have deleted TVLand(fills) website from my "Favorates" list. The network, (along with many others) no longer gives a Rat's @$$ about the people who once made it great, so I find it's best to move elsewhere. Nearly every show that they no longer show on this network is now available for purchase on Home Video one way or another, so they can go and rot in their corperate greed! As for "Der Finkenfuhrer" I salute you, WITH MY MIDDLE FINGER!

^^^^^^ Guess I will too, Reg. Being how Finkenfurhrer has blocked my ISP from even getting into their board.
Great way to run a message board.

When they added Scrubs and Extreme Makeover Home Edition, I already knew it was a bad omen that the channel was done for.
With TVLand's demise though there's RTV to look up to, though it's still a hardly-affiliated half-infomercial network. |

They added Scrubs to TV Land?
I like Scrubs, but seriously, it's not yet aged well enough for TV Land at all! They should let at least 20, maybe 25 years pass for it to be material even considerable for TV Land! |
