TV Land is going off the air (DON'T I WISH!)

If it takes reality smut such as High School Reunion and The Cougar to keep TVBLAND running, I'd rather this channel not exist at all.  

Scroll down the first page of theads in this section (TV Related Rants), and you'll see several topics related to TVLand, including one on 'The Cougar'.

 

It's already off the air in my opinion.  I haven't watched this channel in a while, for all the reasons we have posted in past threads.  This channel sucks and since many people have tried to bring to their attention the types of programs we want to see and they don't want to listen.....screw them!

I do hate the direction this channel is taking, but to be fair they do still have more good shows than most channels. The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acers, Andy Griffith, etc. My biggest complaint about it is the godawful neverending ads they run for their reality garbage, the big banners in the corner of the screen that never go away, the popups, etc. It makes it hard to enjoy watching an old show when that Cougar skank gets shoved in your face during every commercial break, or that idiotic High School Reunion show where they are all obviously actors working from a very bad script.

There's another channel I watch at night now that shows Family Ties, Happy Days and a few other old shows. I forget the name, seems to be a bit religious oriented though. Also WGN America shows a lot of classic shows every Sunday night.

I wish TV Land would go back to playing the old shows again...not this reality crap!

Shows that are prior to 1979 SHOULD be seen, not anything since 1979!

Has anyone seen the ad where the guy is crying, and the "cougar" is touched, and the guy says "homina, homina, homina"?

Sounds like what they call RTV. That must be the channel 4.2 someone else mentioned, since stations seem to like airing it as a DTV subchannel.

You're right about the religious bent (bent? right? get it?): RTV just got bought by Bob Schuller, son of the Hour Of Power minister.

As of 9:00 AM This morning their Message Board is still shut down.

As with any policy, it is not possible to anticipate every discussion.  Thus, what is appropriate and inappropriate for this board and the Forums may need adjustment as situations and discussion progress.  Some past discussions may no longer be appropriate, so, one should not assume that one can get around the policies applicable to this board by trying to revive an old thread.  Your cooperation as these situation arise and are handled as well as your abiding by the rules established will be greatly appreciated and facilitate making this a more productive board both for TV Land and you.

This board, as well as the station itself has gone down the toilet. The Link is firmly in bed with TV Land.

When they added Scrubs and Extreme Makeover Home Edition, I already knew it was a bad omen that the channel was done for.

With TVLand's demise though there's RTV to look up to, though it's still a hardly-affiliated half-infomercial network.
