Quote People may stop reaching for the "fast-forward" button every time a commercial break comes on on something they recorded for later viewing.

I don't have a problem with kids seeing adult commercials.   First of all, they probably don't care what "ED" is, and second, if they ask what some such commercial is all about, just make something up.   And make your explanation really long and boring so they're sorry they even asked.

The second biggest reason people complain about (Cost is the first) is the insane glut of commercials played during a show. Keep your commercial breaks to two or three minutes a break five times each hour, show family-friendly commercials at times when children are most likely watching and show all commercials for "bodily functions" at times when children are most likely asleep and MAYBE you'll stem the tide of those who are cutting the cord. Post Away!

The problem for appropriate children viewing is time zones. 10 PM Eastern is 7PM Pacific and 5PM Hawaii.

TBS and TNT and some of these others should.  I can't watch shows or movies on these channels because of the interminable commercial breaks.  Too much Insurance Wars, Mesothelioma, lousy movies, lousy video games, quack cures, loan crap, etc.

Yay! Now let's see if other channels follow suit!
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

I love Judge Judy.

And we proud cable customers see nothing but infomercials on many of the cable channels.
That is, in the early morning hours.
I'm paying for fvcking commercials?
Screw you Charter!!

I was watching Judge Judy - full episodes - on You Tube (I'm stuck in a place that has no cable - just Roku which doesn't air regular TV shows). Anyway - the "full" episodes are around 17 - 18 minutes. That's ALOT of effing commercials - 12 -13 minutes worth.

I used to like TRU but couldn't put up with the incessant commercials. I'll give them another shot now.

Thanks for the heads up, regulus!

I actually like TruTv. So mad props to them. What I noticed recently was that hour long shows on most networks are now around 41-42 minutes of actual show. I remember a couple years ago that it averaged between 44-47 minutes of actual show. It's refreshing to hear of a network that is actually reducing it's sell out percentage. I'm sick of paying for commercials. Hell, the only reasons I have paid cable now is A) My friends next door moved out and they let us use their internet, so now I have to pay for it. B) My apartment complex made me take down my antenna, of which I only got a few channels anyways. C) Adding cable to the internet was only an extra $38 bucks extra a month. Of course Comcast nails you for an extra $10 bucks a month for HD. Dickheads.
If I lived in an area with better OTA coverage then I'd drop cable. I'd rather not pay for the ads.
Say something clever here...

No, I'm too lazy. Imagine it yourself.
