The Worst Ad For Hanes T-Shirts I Ever Saw

These ads are currently plastered all over the Clark/Lake train station in Chicago.
You have time to see the ad for a second or two as the train pulls into the station.

The ad features a man spreading his unbuttoned business shirt to reveal a clean white t-shirt beneath.
The familiar Hanes logo is at the bottom right.

Oh, but wait. The Hanes logo is a Coors logo.

If you have an unobstructed view of the ad when your train comes to a stop,
you may have time to notice this.

The unfortunate juxtaposition of the gleaming white t-shirt and the white-text-in-a-red-rectangle logo immediately says "Hanes" to an advertising-saturated consumer.

The similarities between the logos are less than ideal.

The man spreading the business shirt is supposed to be in "Superman" pose, with the blank t-shirt reminding us that we are not in fact superman, but people with very clean underwear.

Call me elitist, but I think this point is too fine to make an impression on your average drunk guy.
The brief spark of attention required to ingest the pertinent info from an outdoor ad isn't sufficient here for a consumer to make all these connections.

Also, if you're a person who would drive drunk, you're probably not a person who takes the train.
And if you're a person who already is drunk, you're in the train station already and you think you're looking at a Hanes ad.

Or an ad for detergent with bleach.

The ad sucks. So does Coors, incidentally.
