We had an event happen recently called an "earthquake." The event was in Alaska. It was reported as a 7.0, which is pretty major. Someplace around 200,000 lives to be impacted. Roads tore up, pipe-lines shut down, and the impact to last for years!!

The news hounds were all gearing up for weeks of "special" reporting.

But then an old man died. He happened to be a past president. He did some things while in office worth reminding us of.

But these "news" stations go on, and on, and on, and on, and on,

How many times do we need be reminded that he was a fighter pilot at age 18?

Or that his wife's name was Barbara?

They are now reporting HISTORY! When current and future things are taking place.

Gggggggeeeeeezzzzzzzzz "GIVE IT A REST!"

I feel you-- this latest funeral was supposed to be a private funeral (from what I understood, "private" was supposed to mean closed to news media). Well, I go to see TPIR today, and CBS News is at that "private" funeral! What is the point?! They were already at the public one in Washington-- it makes no sense!

Well it's cheap "reporting."..……….. Just like they do in DC all the time.

Let's see how many days they can drag it out...………...

Let me tell you what *I* think!
The guy earned his MudMonkeyMeritBadge a while back - been on TV more since he died than for the previous 10 years of his life! And they keep covering the funeral(s)! How many friggin' funerals do we need? Maybe they should get an Amtrak train and shuffle his mortal remains around the country to view - stop in all the little rural towns and let the locals come view him - heck, that's what they did with Abe Lincoln. They could even schedule 'field trips' for 1st-4th graders to go to the local Amtrak station and view 'The Dead Guy', have a quiz and give a free Dairy Queen chocolate-dipped ice cream cone to the 10 children who answered the most correct questions about him. The ones who giggled, didn't pay attention, and otherwise picked their noses? They would need a 'good mental shake-up' and should be forced to go touch the dead guy.
And you know what? When they showed his dog, I actually panicked! I thought for sure they were going put it to sleep and mummify it, and place it with him to be with him for eternity, as was done for some ancient South American civilizations and some of the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Other than the absurdity of everything said herein, threads with any sort of political leanings really belong in the 'Political Forum'...but one has to wonder who remains to be dug up to say anymore about this good man.

Other than the ORIGINAL post was NOT political, but about the obsessions of the companies that dare to call themselves "NEWS" programs. I thought it was in the correct place. And most all of these NEWS casts are political in nature. (its cheap broadcasting.)

So if a state doesn't burn down or blow into another hemisphere, they talk about 99.9% politics.

and THAT is the subject.

Back to the subject at hand...…………………………………

Some of these broadcasts proclaim

"BREAKING NEWS!"

And then turn the star-of-the-hour loose to regurgitate more happenings in DC...…

The US is HUGE !!!  and the real news is everywhere.

Send a message to FA and ask him to move this thread to the Political Forum, please - you are starting to resemble another board member a little too much.
Meanwhile - get 'er done...or go talk about commercials
