I'm glad 'The King' is dead.  I didn't pay much attention to the VW commercials.  It figures that Kraft would pick up the same ad agency....used to work for the big K many moons ago.

Back in the mid to late 90's I worked for a trade show & museum exhibit company that was owned by Carden & Cherry of Nashville, Tenn., the ad agency that created these two campaigns...

I bet this is the same agency behind the Burger King 'square butts' commercial. I hated that ad with a passion.Angry
