I didn't take it that way, I just laughed at the flowers.
However its hard to actually hear everything in the commercials when my in laws are in the room.

Well the whole thing involved "pretty perky secretary" dogging on "frumpy silent secretary" because ha ha the flowers are obviously for the pretty one. But oh no, the frumpy one gets the pretty bouquet, how gratifying.

OK....I used to work in Floral Design so I'll say that this ad is telling people that
Boxed flowers =CHEAP. I prefer "cheaper".  But this is rather true. The vase DOES add to your cost, as does the labor for arrangements. |

It looks clever except for one thing, and that's that it has that (IMO) squeezed-in-edgewise dark comedy that people are so fond of. I can just imagine one of the writers saying "Let's see - box = coffin = edgy!"
