I think it's safe to say that I've NEVER met a "feminine hygiene" product ad that I have LIKED.  Mad-Ave makes us women out to be some sort of leaking/smelly/bloodletting creatures that need to be DEALT WITH!.  Ouch    But suddenly I had a revelation that all these products end in "x".   I wonder what the advertising mentality is behind THAT?  And speaking of the names of these types of products....what does "ALWAYS" mean?   They want me to menstruate 24/7 so I can "always" use them??  Confused   And "Massengill"?  WTF?  Sounds like a PBS mini-series with Helena Bonham Carter.  Cool  "Tonight's installment finds the ladies in the drawing room of Massengill, sipping tea with that "no so fresh feeling...."    Embarrassed    Or worse yet..."Last night I dreamt I went to Massengill again...."   LOL

Perhaps the "X" is a tribute to the chromosone that makes it all possible...?

Here's a hilarious old Kotex ad.

"Going on with old ways is a folly."

Aha! I've figured out how to add images!

So why does the ad that says, "At stores and shops that cater to women" show a man being catered to BY women?! (Nurses and someone sitting on the grass behind him.) Talk about sexism! Of course, the ad is from 1921.

I feel it's actually anything BUT sexist (for 1921).  The product "Kotex" is there for the 1920's professional women who are wearing more modern (and snow white ?)  uniforms.   Imagine the accidents that rags caused!  ConfusedEmbarrassed   The ad presents Kotex pads as a hygienic and almost medicinal  product ( for the nurse) and keeping the "average woman" ( the grass lady) clean and worry free in a beucolic setting.   For the times, I think this ad is excellent.  Where the product could be purchased at the time, and this ad are non-related.   Approve
