I was going to post this very commercial but you beat me to the punch. On another website this commercial got flack for apparently teaching impressionable kids that not alerting a cashier when the bill is too low and instead driving off without paying for the correct bill is okay. I personally thought her high pitched "Start the car! Start the car!" screech was the most annoying part.

Damn I think this commercials original airing was 2011 or 2012 not sure. Other than the yelling this a fairly benign ad!

Oh, this one again...
At least now the ad can have some real context, like

She was standing near an IKEA dresser when a kid climbing on it got crushed as it fell, and, rather than sticking around to be blamed for the little Darwin Award winner's death, she ran out of the store screaming her catchphrase...   LOL

I thought I saw the end of this sh*t years ago.  The local channel has been airing this back to back multiple times all week! Assuming I didn't get the message in the first 15 second ad.

Ikea had to settle a a lawsuit a few weeks ago for crappy falling cabinets, they can't afford to create a new ad to they have to recycle this 4, 5 year old mess.

That's a new one on me. I hardly ever see Ikea commercials here.

1.  Why is this "summer sale" ad airing now?

2.  I usually ignore ads that say "Up to 50% off selected items".  "Up to"???  "Selected items"???  Those terms are meaningless.

My biggest problem with this spot is the music. For those not in the know, it's from the original Star Trek series.. and was a battle theme.. NOT a "flight" or "escape" theme.

Context, people. Context.

You'll have to explain that reference to me, srg.

There are some modern day things I'm still culturally illiterate about.

The commercial's premise is silly, but I think the woman is kinda funny.

The first rule of fight club is that you don't talk about fight club.
The second rule of fight club is that you don't talk about fight club.
(oops! Embarrassed )

The movie is pretty good, and the book fills in details about the movie.  Wink

I don't know if it is my old OS (Windows 7) or the fact that Yahoo keeps trying to take the page I am viewing away.  I'm getting pissed!! Angry

ABC had a news story this morning about what demographic buys IKEA furniture.

22 to 34 years old. I guess in your 30s you become successful enough to move on up from this bullcrap cheap furniture.
