Hey, you guys with the oversized signature pictures: would you kindly consider making your pictures smaller? When scrolling down to read threads, you have to scroll more with each of your posts, because even though you might be scrolling down the side of the page, it automatically scrolls through your signature each time as well.
As somebody with hand issues, I'm begging you!  PLEASE? |

The signatures have their own scroll bars. Scrolling the main bar shouldn't cause them to scroll too.

Faith some message boards have that blessed feature that allows you, in your user options, to shut off other people's sig lines so you can avoid all the huge pics and "razzamatazz" some people use. I just checked the options and it doesn't look like this is one of them. HOWEVER I know on some boards that the admin can make the settings show an avatar ONCE in a thread and then never again in the thread. I don't know if this board is set up that way, but maybe Nathan can do something about it.

Just a thought: In Photobucket, one can resize pics. For the longest time, I did not realize that Jimbo's signature pic had one more word on it!!

I have no problem resizing it. I'd be lying, however, if I didn't say that I was a bit befuddled and a tad annoyed that I have been posting signatures of this type for a very long time and now it seems that people are finding it annoying. Not trying to sound bitchy and whatnot, just wish that someone would have mentioned it sooner, like a year and a half ago or so. |

SunnyBunny, I think that when I joined (last November), you had the bunny with the pancake on its head. That was small enough that it didn't need to be resized. When I first saw the topic title, I thought of a message board I saw where the signature pictures all automatically slid across the screen, wrapping around at the edges of the message box, like those scrolling tickers full of words you see on the news. People would frequently make the image a long line of animated characters that appeared to be chasing each other.

I like them, Jimbo's even has a punch line when you scroll down, this product.........scroll down......SUCKS!

No, I didn't drown YET, it poured quite a bit of the time!! I mean, it POURED!!
we went to the Flume, [I'll post pics] sadly, I was not able to go through, but, my Husband and Daughter did, they had never been and I didn't want to hold them back, those hills and stairs aren't a good idea with a fused spine. It managed to stay dry for them and we had a great time despite the the rain.

 I like the idea of limiting sigs to the user's first post in a thread. I've discussed the pic size with Jimbo before, and told him that, while I'm not really a fan of big sig pics (sounds like a 'Daily Variety' headline-'STIX NIX SIG PIX'
) it's more that I dislike the enormous size of some of them..and then seeing that exact same pic if that user posts a lot. In Jimbo's case, the guy in the pic reminds me of a lobotomized Ward Cleaver, and it's both annoying after seeing it the first few hundred times, and also perhaps a bit hard to take a serious political discussion point seriously with 'Mr. 1950s asshat' holding a beer can at the bottom of every post!) |

I used to have that problem too, until I realized that I was accidentally placing my cursor inside their sig window thingy. Anyway, make sure it's not, and you should be good. If not, can't you just scroll by dragging the bar down? |

I scroll using the wheel on my mouse, so when the page gets to one of those signatures, it starts scrolling the signature down.

I agree, they do make it harder to read each page. Not that they aren't fun and cute!! Maybe keep them hidden in profiles instead, where we can view them when we want?
