David Odgen Stiers famous for portraying Major Charles Emerson Winchester in the TV version of M*A*S*H...



...passed away today from bladder cancer.

He was 75.

He was also the Dad in Better Off Dead.  RIP Charles Emerson Winchester the Thirrrrrd.

He was also an excellent pastor on the late Micheal Piller's USA series "The Dead Zone" back in the early to mid 2000s

He will be missed.
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

I agree that it was better in some ways, but in others, not so much.

I liked that in the early years, it tried to be more of a comedy, whereas I the later years I thought it kind of took itself a bit too seriously sometimes. Of course, it did that in the early years too, but it seems to me that it wasn't as often.

It always seemed to have a bit too much of a do-gooder aspect to it.

I will say that I did like Harry Morgan as Col. Potter a lot more than MacLean Stevenson as Henry Blake, but I didn't care much for Mike Farrell as BJ. I also liked the character Winchester better than Frank Burns.

And I never could stand Loretta Swit as Hot Lips, period.

File it all under ancient history though, I guess.
