Peace and live, Paul. I love your voice.

I almost heard about that earlier this evening on ABC World News Tonight with David Muir.

I say almost because as usual, they kept on teasing the story and dragging it out until the end of the broadcast.

As they're approaching the end, they tease two stories, go to commercial, come back, do one story, tease the other one again, go to commercial again, then come back and finally do the story they've been teasing for 10 minutes.

By the time they got to it, I had fallen asleep and missed it.

Pissed me off!!!!

I can't stand David Muir anyway.

I call him Mrs. Muir.

Anyway, RIP to Paul Sorvino.

I had only seen him in a coupla few things.

I've been seeing a lot of pics of him with Goodfellas costar Ray Liotta. Also saw a clip of him singing opera.

RIP, Paul.

I might've asked this question before, but why don't you like Muir? Is he too dramatic?

Funny, my husband doesn't care for David Muir either. He says he always sounds like the voice of gloom and doom. He doesn't bother me. World News Tonight usually comes on while we're either preparing or eating dinner so I only catch snippets anyway.

Yes, "too dramatic" is one way of putting it, and like msmadz says of her husband's opinion of him, it's mostly his voice.

But rather than "too dramatic" or "gloom and doom", I see it as too emotional. Like he's purposely trying to appeal to viewers' emotions.

He has sort of a low, "breathy" empathetic "I feel your sorrow" voice.

Maybe that's why ABC hired him for the job.

Sometimes he almost sounds like he's about to choke up and start sobbing.

I always imagine someone watching him like a basket of puppies and kittens and going "Awwwwww... isn't he just the most precious thing?????"

Blecccch.

I don't need that kind of manipulative crap when watching the news.

That's what it's like on many newscasts, sports events, game shows, and reality shows, plus talk shows, trying to appeal to emotions.

I must agree. Listening to his creep is like harbinger of doom. Everything the man says no matter how mundane sounds like the goddamned Apocalypse.

Not to mention, every newscast starts with "Breaking News as we come on the air" or "several developing stories".

And local news anchors are even harder to take.

Chirpy, twerpy, goodie-two-shoes, know-nothing ding-a-lings still wet behind the ears.

Only hired because they look good on camera.

I can barely watch it anymore.

Mostly keep the volume on mute until the weather comes on.

You rarely ever see any ugly or even average looking people on TV, especially women. When Roger Ailes ran Fox News, every female personality was good-looking no matter what. I bet he got rid of some if they dared to age later on in their careers.
