Anyone ever read and/or post on http://www.gsn.com/cgi/community/buzz/index.html - THIS board besides me? They're constantly raving about how the newer trashy shows bring in higher ratings than the classic game shows they used to air.

Yet another group of boneheads that want to forget the 20th century ever existed...

Well I see Match Game is still on.  But they've taken off so many of the classics.  I used to love Password with Alan Ludden, and To Tell The Truth, What's My Line.  Now it's trash, trash, and more trash.  Gotta appeal to the Thirty And Under Crowd.  That's what TV is all about these days.  If only we could revolt, and take it BACK.  I know some young people who hate that newer rubbish too.  The New Newlywed Game with Chili.con.carnie Wilson is appallingly embarrassing.  Just too...much...information! ShockedUnhappy

Didn't that TVLand message board go through that? Members were screaming there to bring back classic programs but they fell on deaf ears. That led to no more complaining there or be banned...... which I was.Smile

Just stick to classic game shows and everything would be just fine.

If only....but that's just not possible. People say that trash is what garners ratings.

What trashy shows? Their puppet show will be canceled shortly because ratings were terrible. GSN lost the rights to many shows like Press Your Luck, Password, What's My Line?, The Price is Right, and Tic Tac Dough. You can't blame GSN for most of these; blame Fremantle Media.

GSN was at the risk of going off the air because an all-classics schedule nearly killed the network. They needed original programming.

What's the trash you're talking about? If it's Deal or No Deal or Baggage, those show do garner high ratings. The embarrassing Carnie Wilson had her own reality show, but its ratings were laughably bad. The trashier shows come and go.

Closing logos! Now that's something I can watch on TV.

true true perhaps they should have a mix of old and new shows, something that finds a happy medium between the two.

Damn Fremantle Media, what selfish bastards. Now how are we going to see old shows now?

At least they are still showing ONLY game shows, right?
Cartoon Network stopped showing only cartoons!
TVLand stopped showing only classic TV!
American Movie Classics stopped showing classic movies entirely!

They do have a few reality shows, but most of them got snatched off the air quickly because nobody likes them.

Ad nauseous, the classics aren't performing that badly on Game Show Network. They air old shows from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2 to 4 a.m. Many YouTube users uploaded classic game shows solely because they can't see them on GSN. You can do a search there and see some classics.

GSN used to show only game shows 24/7. Now they need 6-8 hours of infomericals every day just to stay on the air.

Maybe GSN should be called SON...

Sold-Out Network!

We have to get a petition written down to have our stations come back!

Same with Nick@Nite.  They went from showing 50s-70s shows in the 1990s to showing 90s to 00s shows in the 2000s.  Angry  I couldn't believe it when I saw George Lopez on there a few years ago (after not watching N@N for a few years.)  I was expecting Taxi or something else!  I will admit that I like the Family Matters reruns on N@N now, but that's about the only good thing on there now.

Welcome to Commercial Land. This is a magical place where all women look up while eating, and it is perfectly acceptable to slurp the hell out of a Dannon yogurt cup.

That new REELZ channel calls itself "TV About Movies", but they show episodes of Newsradio and Ally McBeal. WTF do THOSE have to do with movies??
