This was one of the travel commercials that I actually liked.

This started off with a zoom in of a grid of pictures with "A Republic of Colors" underneath and then it goes through a montage of scenes of different places in the Republic, with some bongo music playing that finally didn't sound cheesy, and then at the end it fades in with the "Dominican Republic:Endless" logo (which I find really cool looking and unique) with a phone number underneath.

See? No need to butcher classic songs, or bad singers needed, or any lame comedy just a simple tour of what the country offers, with a taste of the music that you might encounter ,plus a logo that gets my attention, and you've got my attention.

Some times I think Travel advertisers try too hard to get my attention.

During her junior year spring break, my daughter volunteered at an orphanage in the Dominican Republic.  Although the countryside was beautiful, it certainly wasn't a place to vacation.

It's just like any poor country, they have the lavish tourist spots and the rest of the country lives in squalor.
