These class action lawsuits drive me crazy!

Maybe! If you weren't such a f*cking idiot! And handled these pesticides properly.  You would be just fine!

Am I supposed to feel sorry for this idiot?  I worked in the turf industry for 30 years!

I was in Chicago last week and most of the commercials that I saw were ambulance chaser lawsuits about Roundup.  Now that there's precedent for winning a lawsuit, they're all coming out of the woodwork to get their share.

The class-action lawyers rake in millions and millions, and their class-action clients will probably get a $10 coupon for their next purchase of Round Up.

Disapprove To all making fun of this, all I can say is 'eat sh*t & die'.
The Missus used to say put me in front of a computer and watch out...put me in front of much else and I was an imperfect idiot. She knew me better than anyone.
I'm not good with poisons and stuff like that - I know what this guy is talking about - had two operations so far, but been clear for a few years now.
I thought I followed directions as printed.
About 30 years back, we had a nice Brick & Wood cabin on a golf course in the woods of North Carolina. I had to use Roundup for the brick walkways and I had to use other assorted poisons on the wood for wood boars and wood peckers and other pests (which was illegal to mess with them) and I think I got mixtures wrong...whatever. After 2 days, I remember wondering why the walkways and wood siding seemed to be glowing, then hearing Twilight Zone music, seeing stars and lights, and passing the hell out in the driveway, only to wake up in a hospital. Luckily, the poison container was near me when I dropped.
I may jump into this class action - I think it is valid even though I was probably stupid and there are a lot of people just like me.

YES, Yes, yes...a dead lawyer on the side of the road? Never any skid marks.
It is a bitch of a profession - not everyone makes money or becomes great - more of a 'dog-eat-dog' profession. I have LOTS of friends (and family) that are (or were) lawyers in the assorted specializations and I KNOW we all need to eat, so maybe I'll 'throw them a bone' and just hope not to destroy anyone in the process, but to address a wrongdoing just like Perdue Pharma/Sackler Family and the Opioid scandal. Poisons were THAT bad.

^  I am truly sorry if you or a loved one was hurt by this type of exposure.
Most of the time it is just ignorance. Turf managers in all fields must usually have a degree and attend seminars to keep their pesticide licenses current.  It's all about (Right To Know), they pound into your head the importance of safe handling and application of ALL pesticides.  My boss made me get a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) on every product I bought for the shop. This was the late 80s.

Decades ago, we only ever used one jug of Roundup.  Never found it effective.  Another (gardener) neighbor recently recommended I use it to kill all my weeds.  No thanks.  It takes longer & is more work, but I go through an area & pull them all up by the roots.  More satisfying to kill the bastards personally...  Wink

I use a combination of orange oil, vinegar, water, and bit of dish soap.  It kills them quickly.  You can almost hear them scream as they die.  It's best used on a hot, sunny day.  And you don't want to use it on anything in the grass because it kills everything including grass.  It's completely non-toxic.

I'm sick of these predatory lawfirms. There should be laws against this. Glyphosate doesn't cause cancer. There's literally zero evidence that it does. A jury of scientifically-illiterate laymen had some cancer victims and a giant corporation placed in front of them and were told to decide which one they empathize with most. Legal cases don't decide scientific fact.
