I don't like these emu commercials because they're cashing in on an idea I had first. In 2015 I posted a series of stories about a man and his companion ostrich at www.smashwords.com. In 2016 I took the stories down and published them as a book on Amazon. The book is called INCIDENTAL CONTACT - THE WEIRD MENACE ADVENTURES OF O'RYAN AND HIS OSTRICH. It's available for anyone to see. Three years later Liberty Mutual starts running their commercials about a man and an emu.
I've contacted them several times about this but they don't reply. I don't understand the reason they're ignoring since I'm not asking anything of them other than a simple polite acknowledgement that I had the idea before they did. |

PaWolf, but your Lassie –Boo analogy doesn't hold water. In the song, Boo is
just a sideline character, mentioned only in the chorus, and plays no role in
the verses. He could easily be left out and no one would notice. My stories,
and later book, are about a quirky human male actively engaging in scenarios
with a large flightless bird—which is exactly what the Liberty Mutual commercials
are presenting. And as I said, I'm not demanding anything of them. I'm not
threatening legal action or seeking compensation. All I'm asking is that they
acknowledge the existence of my book coming before their ad campaign. When
Mister Ed first appeared, the
creators of the show had no problem with admitting, off-air, that Francis the Talking Mule preceded them. So
what harm could there be in Liberty Mutual doing the same thing? How could it hurt
them? They even went so far as to delete my post when I commented on their
Facebook page. That, it seems to me, is rather shoddy behavior for a company
that advertises itself as caring for others. |

I see this guy graduated from car insurance to life insurance. He was in that State Farm commercial a few years back where Grandma calls her insurance from the desert. Both really stupid commercials, in my opinion. |

I saw the Liberty Mutual commercial the other day. It was followed by a Blue Bunny Ice Cream commercial. I thought the guy in the LibMu commercial was the same guy as the Blue Bunny guy. So I looked it up. Turns out he wasn't, but I then noticed that the LibMu guy actually was the same as the State Farm guy. |

As a general rule, emu meat should be cooked to an internal temperature of between 150 and 160 degrees F (66 - 71 C). This will cook emu steaks and roasts to "rare" or "medium rare." Know how sick I continue to be of Liberty Mutual's petty ads? I muted the Witness ad just a few minutes ago; last night Limu Emu was on multiple times. Just FKN STOP Liberty my A$$. They simply took the first two letters of each word in the company name LI-berty MU-tual (Limu) then found the only animal whose name rhymes with Limu which is of course, Emu. Limu Emu. Companies have used animals as their mascots for decades. I'm amazed none of you got the joke. The commercial is a riff on 70s cop/buddy shows like Starsky and Hutch. Doug's hair and mustache should be the giveaway along with the music when they run thru the streets. That doesn't excuse the gross overplay, though. I laughed once. Now I'm sick of it, too.

Yesterday I must have seen LIMU EMU at least 10, 12, maybe 15 times. In one f*cking day! My constant hate for this godawful company will never go away. Not to mention the 2 or 3 times I've heard the Limu Emu radio ads, in which I change the channel as soon as that 'Limu Emu!' jingle begins. Fking bulls--t. There are several new LiMu Emu commercials out now. What annoys me is, they release all of this information yet they pull down the video! WHY! We're Sorry This commercial has been removed at the request of the advertiser Doug and the LiMu Emu are on the stakeout to inform some new homeowners
that Liberty Mutual Home Insurance can be customized to fit their needs.
Doug wants to take a quick cat nap and asks the Emu to keep watch and
warn him if anything happens. He should've been more specific as the Emu
goes into high-alert when a pinecone falls on the car.  There's also one where DB Doug is given the key to the city...  STFU!!! |

More braindead content from the worst insurance company...tied with Geico and Progressive...on television. They could have kept the 'Human' Human League campaign and I wouldn't mind them. Those were tolerable. Then they started throwing that Brad s--t on us. Now it's Limu Emu and that stinkin horrible jingle at the end. And the Zoltan. Slap in the face to the ordinary television viewer. My mute button is WORN OUT. I vow NEVER to use this company as long as I live. Fk off Liberty Liberty Liberty my a$$. Earlier today I saw the newest Limu Emu garbage, where the doofus gets the 'keys to the city'. They should be getting dried up turds, not a freakin' award!!! Why would some marketing whiz (not) try to greenlight something like this, and somehow the company thinks it's a great idea? | I'm not that big of a fan of these Limu Emu ads. I like the 70's vibe, but since day 1 these ads starting aired I'm getting tired of seeing them every day it seems. Time for a new ad campaign, although I can't imagine the next campaign will be any better than most of the commercials they've put out these past 5 years. I wish they'd go back to the "Humans" series. |

I've noticed on two of these ads some weird dubbing. On one of the "key to the city" ads where doofus is going to each microphone at the press stand, when he supposedly says one in Spanish, you can tell his lips are not actually in sync with the sound, he's saying it in English and is being dubbed in Spanish. One the "struggling actor" where he struggles to get the line right, at the end you here the director say, "We'll dub it." A voice comes on and says the line, but if you watch the actor's lips, he actually does say the line correctly! ------------- That's all I have to say about that. |
