I've been seeing this for several weeks now. In the beginning, you will see Santa...WTF? It's still September?

But no! They now have Halloween colors! Confused

I've seen it advertised on QVC or HSN or one of those home shopping channels.

They're pretty useless if you don't have a two story house with a lot of front wall area and if it's not white.

My question is, how do you keep someone from coming by at night and stealing it?

That would work!!!!

I wonder how much it would cost to hire Clint to hang out on your front porch all night and day though...

^ Good point.  What if I put 2 or 3 of these around my new POL fixture?

Nice, but if you really want to discourage future theivery, you could always trip wire a few steel ball filled, C4 explosive charged, Claymore mines around the yard.

Next time they got the urge to steal something out of someone's yard, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Here in FL, I see lots of people use this light to just put the focus on the front door/front porch/entry way area and not on the whole house. I don't mind just white lights to look like snow, but the red and green lights seriously hurt the eyes!

I'm not sure I've ever seen one actually in use.

I have no desire for them. My exterior Christmas decoration is a 5 inch wide gold colored metal "Noel" which I display on my front door.

^  A friend of mine who grew up in an apartment complex in Jersey City, used to project his family's home movies on a building across the way when he was a kid.

Home movies are one way to go, I guess, but the possibilities are endless.  LOL

They're OK on occasion.  But like everything else, when too many people have them, they're just annoying.

When I was about 5 y/o I had a Mickey Mouse projector. It looked like an old commercial movie camera having the film feed and retrieval reel housings on top which looked like MM's ears. It had a battery for the light bulb but a hand crank to play the few second reels of black and white cartoons. I used it in my dark bedroom closet. A few years later transistor radios, 8mm home movies, and 3.5 inch reel to reel tape recorders were "high tech". Points of light doesn't seem very far beyond that.

I had a Give-a-Show projector when I was a kid, but it only did slide shows.

About 10 years ago, I found a slide projector at a garage sale for about $5, arranged the best of my college slides, invited my college buddies to my house, set up the projector at the foot of my driveway and projected the images onto my garage door.  The images nearly filled the entirety of the 2-car garage door.  They were all slides of us (and all our college cohorts) partying, 70s-style.  Even neighbors started coming over to watch.
