Here's how to make a Geico Commercial...

Throw some sh*t up on the ceiling, see what sticks, have it be 100% off-topic and only mention Geico in the last 5 seconds since to them people are dumb-asses and they'll HAVE to watch the commercial since we won't skip them...f**k you!

And Geico...f**k you!AngryAngryAngry

Another stupid Geico commercial. Garbage made by the insurance company that is tied with Progressive for #1 most stupidest insurance commercials. A very close 2nd to State Farm (by 0.005%). And of course, if you don't have a brain, use text speak all the time and spend 20 hours a day on SnapChat, Instagram and Facebook, "it's what you do."
Where art thou, coffee cups, squirrels and laughing dogs? We miss the Geico ads of the late '90s. Much better, much more on-track, much less stupider.

This has to be one of the worst Geico ads so far. I've only seen it twice and once was more than enough. Of course now that I've said that it'll be on constantly. f**k off Geico. And take your sh*tty ads with you.

Folks: Cool

I saw this "Peter Pan" Geico commercial for the first time a few days ago... and my jaw dropped to the floor! Some gender-confused fairy character bubbling nauseous and sarcastic "age commentary" on classmates attending a school reunion... WTF?

Hey Geico - let's make a ridiculous and over the top comparison of something completely unrelated to the selling of insurance and call it a clever ad? Confused

I guess folks will remember the "stupidity" of this ad spot and then link it to Geico?

Geico = stupid

Yep, I get it now. Wink

I thought the first time I saw the stupid new Peter Pan/reunion ad that Geico had finally made a commercial worse than the horrible Kenny Rogers "Gambler" one -- you know the one? He painfully sings line after line of that damn song, pausing between each one for a backup arrangement we can't hear...that one. But Kenny Rogers is still the worst.

Amazingly, I have somehow managed to avoid seeing this commercial thus far! I noticed it on the other day, glancing over at the TV while someone else was watching it, but the audio was thankfully on mute.

But, to your point about the "insta-mute"...

Something else just occured to me:
On YouTube, sometimes the videos have ads that you can skip after about 4 or 5 seconds and on others they might force you to watch the whole ad.

What strikes me as a bit odd is that on those opportunities to skip after a few seconds -- a huge majority of those ads DO NOT actually "get to the point" in the first few seconds!! A lot of them waste those precious few first seconds on intro music, or some visual attention-grabber effect and never mention the thing being sold.

So, of course, I skip the ads at the very first opportunity without EVER knowing what the product was. (Which, I would do even if I did know the product.)

Still, not exactly the definition of "effective advertising"!

I think the same thing is happening when you hear the intro notes to Final Countdown.

It's just a trigger to turn off the ad.
Not very effective from an advertiser's point of view, yet these companies continue to hire the same ad agencies who create this crap.

ConfusedYou clearly have no offspring.
My oldest son was MUCH like that when he was young - and tough enough to take whatever came his way because of it. Now that he is a mental trainwreck from years in Afghanistan, killing by hand for Uncle Sam, he is now retired at a young age and still the same - but now you have to be scared - very scared - of him, should he approach you in the manner 'Peter Pan' does.

Their horrible ads are one of the reasons I left Geico several years ago. If you are pandering to the lowest common denominator, you are insuring higher risk folks. Went to group rates through my old employer with Travelers, have been happy with them since. (Floating umbrellas>Peter Pan)

I'm actually not all that turned off by the little so-and-so. Not liking it, either, but it sure beats those commercials from the last couple of years in which people were literally screaming at you, kids were shrieking, etc. etc. apparently in reaction to the new rules about commercials' volume not being greater than the program's volume.

This commercial has a few obvious fundamental flaws:

1) Peter Pan is too young to drive (and hence, does not need insurance).
2) Peter Pan can FLY !!!   (and hence, does not need a car!)

Saw this stupid BS earlier. There's no warning this little snot's about to yell "Phiiiiiiil"! At least with the Final Countdown crap you have instrumentals, warning you to change the channel. This stupid little twerp just starts shouting like Billy Mays used to do. I hope that jerk's wire breaks. That's what you get for annoying millions with your crap.

Edit: I finally beat those pathetic asshats! Just now I saw the stupid banquet setting and immediately grabbed the remote and changed the channel before that flying POS was able to appear and shout out of the TV.

Peter: Phil? Hey Phil! Let's shake...PSYCHE! Oh...and is this your wife Joanne? She doesn't even look 68!

Phil: Peter...at least I grew up!

Phil punches Peter in the face.

Phil: What? That D*** deserved it, he always bullied me in class! I'm so glad I got that out of my system.

Him getting the lyrics wrong at the end of the commercial is what really annoys me. He sings "You make me feel so spring has sprung". It's supposed to be "as though spring as sprung", stupid Peter!

Only a matter of time before he flies face first into a drone.  Maybe one of those with quad propellers.  That would be something to see...  LOL

Watching the First 48, and I sense some bad news is on the way, just like on the show.  I have the remote ready to go during the stupid commercial break, and sure enough, that flying POS arrives on screen.  I almost got the channel changed in time before hearing that little sh*t shout that F idiot's name.

I caught that. Yesterday the news showed a brief video of Sinatra singing "You make me feel that spring has sprung". It was his 100th birthday. I still hate the GEICO commercial with a passion.

I think I might even pay to see "Peter Pan" fly into an A-10 Warthog engine.
Spring has sprung, indeed.

I really have to hand it to these scumbag insurance aholes. They have succeeded in making the most annoying POS commercial of all time. It's that flying little $hit's annoying "Phiiiiiiiil" voice that makes me want to throw the remote at the TV, among other things.

When and if I can't hit mute or change the channel before the flying POS starts to yell, I just say "oh $hit" and it drowns out the annoying roach's voice. It has worked the past few times already. Whatever it takes to not hear that idiot works for me.

This is definitely where the insurance clowns should've filmed the little $hit on a wire scene.

ConfusedThe more I see this commercial, the more it is growing on me.
 "Phiiiilllllll!........Joanne - you don't look a day over 70!"
~~~aaaaand~~~
<dragging,foot.across.Phil's.face>=priceless!
LOL
I laugh a little more every time I see it - something must be happening to my brain, doncha know...and I'm prolly not getting anything for XMAS because of it.
When we moved away from mama's house, there was still one teenaged daughter at home.
I tried to limit my envolvement in the parenting duties.
Jeez, she took mama's truck and broke through the ice!
She got into trouble with other teen party type things too.
She didn't like me much back then, but she surprised me with a nice hug the last time she was here.
It will happen.
My kids would do it to me...
                                                              RANT INCOMING
I don't know how I haven't posted about this pile of sh*t before on here. This is literally one of the worst commercials I have ever seen. Hell, 2015 as a whole has just been full of terrible sh*tty commercials. That little f**ker who plays PP is a f**king dick and is so ugly and is someone you just want to shoot in the face. Along with these Geico ad execs. Whatever happened to the Geico commercials of the late '90s? Those commercials were actually funny, creative and made you want to get Geico. Hell, I'd rather have the gecko back, or even Kash from 2009. Anything to get this little f**ker off my TV before I kill myself. I refer to this and the piece of sh*t "Final Countdown" commercial as "brick commercials". Because whenever I see them I want to throw a brick at my TV.
f**k you Geico AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry
This series, like most of the crap ads created for GEICO (with maybe the exception of the gecko...sometimes), are the work of the creative geniuses at The Martin Agency. These clowns did an ad campaign for my former employer. those sucked, too.
Probably bullied in school for being obnoxious and staring a way bit too long at the other boys and men doing their business in the men's room. Or he will go the route of B.J and instead of calling himself Caytlin he will call himself Petra. I too can't stand Geico. They are slimecocks in my opinion.
