You can choose any year from 1990-1999!  My Kurt Cobain thread comment inspired me to make this thread.  Someone posted something like, 'The 90's wants there current events news back, Donnie," so I decided to make a thread where we can all post like we're still in the 90's!Big smile

1992:

So I was watching Headbangers' Ball on MTV last night, and they aired an advertisement for some new upcoming show called "The Real World."  Basically it sounds like it's gonna be about a group of 7 strangers brought together to live in a house for a few weeks, and their lives together are filmed by a film crew on location. Seriously, wtf?  I really hope this crap doesn't start a trend for future TV show ideas.  Can you imagine if someday "reality" sh*t like this or whatever you wanna call it was rampant across all the major networks?

Jason Goes To Hell?  LOL my God they're never gonna run out of ideas to keep pumping out Friday the 13th movies, are they?

I mean what's next?  A movie with him vs Michael Myers, or even better,  Freddy Krueger?  How about one where he goes on a killing spree on a spaceship?  The sad thing is, as ridiculous as those sound, I honestly wouldn't put it past the writers to reach that far.

WHY would Susan Smith get out of the car without her kids?  Her claim that a man forced her out of the car at gunpoint, leaving with her two kids doesn't make sense.  I smell something fishy here...Wacko

I got myself a cellular phone a couple weeks ago.  The catch is, they charge you something like $2.00 a minute when you make a phone call, so I'm not gonna be using it unless it's for an emergency.  If I'm not at home and my friends need to get in touch with me, they have my pager number and I'll call them back when I can get to a pay phone.

I got a brand new, state of the art computer.

It's a Pentium 166mhz with an 80 meg hard drive, 4 megs of RAM, a 3.5" floppy drive, a CD ROM & a 28.8 bps internal modem.

Came with a 15" Super VGA, CRT monitor.

I'm thinking of signing up with either CompuServe or America Online, so I can get on that "internet" thing they're talking about.

Thumbs Up

Might look into one of those "laptop" type computers also.

I hear they're making them with COLOR screens now!!!

That would be really cool!!!!

I wanted to but I couldn't .. my parents were watching CNN's nonstop coverage of the war in Baghdad, so I spent most of the evening playing my Sega Genesis.

June 1997

So I'm graduating high school in a few weeks and I'm SO excited! I can't wait to get out of this hell. Only thing though, I have no idea what I'm doing after that. My parents want me to go to college but I don't want to go. Maybe finally putting my foot down will get them to change their minds...

September 1997

Well, here I am at college. It's a strange place but I like it better than high school already. I've already made some friends; I joined the school newspaper staff and my first story comes out next week. I'm alone here in the newspaper office so I think I'll go on the Internet. Hmmm...my English professor wants us all to set up an email account. What's a good name to use? All the good ones are taken...how about Moochamoocha? No one has it! I guess that's it.

1997...

I noticed on the information superhighway, a website dedicated to hating TV commercials.  Check it out:

Psycho Joe Bob - 07/31/97 22:36:29
My URL:http://????
My Email:none
Favorite Commercial: Twinkies-Where's the creme Filling?
What commercial do you hate the most?: See Comments Below
How did you find this page?: No Clue
Did You visit the Sinus Homepage?: Huh?
Why Not?: What?
Comments:
I hate burger king's stupid commercials with their dumb songs like the "your way" one. I also hate car company commercials because I have no idea as to what they are saying "no money down" "apr financing" "6%"???? I LOVE THE ONE "Whaddayou know about nachos daria?" "Yah, Dieherria!" [beavis and butthead]. bye!!

January 2, 1990. While Returning Home to Michigan from a Holiday Trip in Florida, I had to call my folks (Who were waiting to pick me up once I arrived at the Airport in Detroit) to tell them I'm coming home on the 1:00 PM Flight , Uh Make that the 5:30 PM Flight Now it's the 10:45 PM Flight! Big smile My folks were half out of their Skulls Wacko by the time I came home, but I had snagged three FREE Airline Tickets and a First-Class Upgrade on the Raleigh-Detroit Flight! LOL

January 1, 1990 - 12:00 AM

The local rock/pop station just got done playing George Michael's "Faith" followed by the new year countdown, making that song the last song I heard in the 1980's. I wonder what kind of music the 90's is gonna bring us.
