    Posted: 18 Apr 2012 at 8:03am
I'm a chronic insomniac due to multiple health problems - a spinal injury, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.  Well, I'm flipping around the channels and come across the bane of my existence - INFOMERCIALS DISGUISED AS TALK SHOWS.

This one is hosted by a (supposedly) doctor who really pours it on thick.  She introduces this dude named "Peter Apatow" - who (it is prominently stated) is NOT A DOCTOR, yet was chosen by the United Nations as some sort of medical spokesperson.  I could swear I've seen this guy on infomercials before.  He closely resembles Kevin Trudeau, who was banned a couple of years ago from appearing in infomercials by an Illinois judge.

He's heavily promoting the miracle cure for ALL PAIN! It's a product called "Supple", some kind of beverage that miraculously reverses the disease process of rheumatoid arthritis, and rebuilds joints. It replaces narcotic analgesics, steroids, topical analgesics, and DANGEROUS DRUGS!

This is the most blatant "natural" cure infomercial I have ever seen.  Even the people doing the testimonials don't seem convinced.

My problem with this is that they are lumping together all kinds of arthritis, fibromyalgia, and back pain.  In addition to fibromyalgia and chronic pain from a spinal injury, I also have rheumatoid arthritis from an immune system run wild.  If this crap was even slightly true, pharmaceutical companies and research scientists all over the would would be out of business!

Osteo arthritis is what your grandmother has - the pain is controlled by ibuprofen and other over the counter analgesics - along with the occasional prescription NSAID.  Rheumatoid arthritis isn't really arthritis. It does not occur from years of usage - it is essentially your body's immune system attacking certain parts of your body - and while it's most often joints, it can also be lungs, kidneys, teeth, eyes, or heart.  RA is treated with drugs that are classified as CHEMOTHERAPY, for heaven's sake!

So how is this guy without a medical background and without even a working knowledge of chronic pain and its effects on the body gonna cure me?  Only if I order his "miracle" beverage!

I am so disgusted.

Osteoarthritis is not always controlled by OTC medications.  There are other therapies.

I find it funny that, as much as you went off on Cherry Carver for talking about her illness, you just can't help but bring yours up in almost every post.  I used to do this, too, and I'm going to tell you right now, people get tired of it quickly.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain.  A lot of other people are, too.

Nice way to distract and divet away from the self-delusionment you perceive about EVERYONE's universal embracement of your animated gif. And really? - you're actually going to mockingly chide someone based on their number of posts? Seriously?! - what junior high school do you attend little girl? And just how many posts are required before one is entitled to engage another with your level of arrogance? And, "commanding the board"? - what are we talking here? - the bridge on Star Trek?! or MrsHills clubhouse? LOL --- silly girl, in her silly world of "I got more posts than you"!

You're the one who sounds "junior high", lysdexic.  Maybe the Youtube comment board is more your speed.

That's amusing. This is crybaby Hill"s very last post, which you choose to selectively over look!

"Now I'm really hurt.  Gonna cry.

And with that, your contention is that I sound junior high? That's a laugh.
Instead of lobbing in an supported statement, why don't you support it with a cogent argument?. Go ahead, support it. Given the thread in its entirety, tell me exactly how I'm the one who is being junior high, as opposed to crybaby hill. Maybe you can't because you're just MrsHills dutiful lap dog, running to her defense??

Your first post here was 3 or 4 words letting us know that you'd never heard of the product being discussed.

What the...?  LOL

That's not the best I can do.  But it's all I actually feel like doing.

I read these "backstabbing" replies about the "miracle cure" Supple. I think that you should just stick to the main subject and quit running each other down. As for Supple, I would not use it as I am sure that I would get tired of drinking it every day and I am, also, sure that it costs more than I can afford 24/7/365. Besides, I take a pill that not only has the same strength of glucosamine and chondritin, but, also, has the proper dose of MSM that my orthopedic doctor wants me to take for osteoarthritis. There are plenty of products on the market that do the same thing that Supple does and does not cost as much. Thanks!

I woke up on the couch after 1:30 in the morning, and after an emergency next door I was wide awake.  This post rang in my Ears as I too channel surf - and again saw this commercial which I had seen the past year.  I cannot undeerstand how the FDA allows these kinds of shows which are based on miracles.

I remember way back the same thought - hey, this guy looks like the brother of Kevin Trudeau who is probably now in security?  I see the resemblance around the Mouth and the manner of talk and phrases.  Should he not be related - must be in the Blood anyway?

Vultures, yes, preying on the aches of people - glad I'm walking and talking at 67 with no aches and just BP med., Aspoirin, B6, and Statin (generic of Zocor...and a good, balanced diet) - along with Omega 3 and a nice herb SawPalmetto to keep the prostate in order.

I see this post was 2012 - good that people expose with their thoughts.

As aka ron said, it looks like someone who was part of this thread, was eventually banned (and comments removed).  So if the chain of replies doesn't make complete sense to you, that'd be the reason.
