These are ads that have part of the page open like a dog ear revealing another image underneath it. The flap stays open revealing part of the ad when your not interacting with it, it unfolds completely when your mouse moves over it. I've seen two ads using this annoying technique, one on CTNow. com where it's an ad for Big Y and another on WPIX 11.com for the Greater Maker Contest. It seems the internet is not safe from screen garbage.Angry
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

Dunno how many times I've mentioned this here. If you don't mind internet ads, fine. If not there are adblockers. I don't surf the web without one.

I sometimes go to the websites for various stores like Petsmart, Walgreen's, etc. to see if something's on sale.  These sorts of ads come in handy, as they replicate the ads that come in the mail (and sometimes I've thrown those out).

I'm not sure how this works but when you open the ad (on purpose or by accident) the back button becomes non functional.
