Actually got a snicker out of this one.  Just hope I don't see it 50 times in a month.
There's a sucker born every minute.

That's exactly the problem though. You WILL see it much more than 50 times in a month.

Personally, I didn't get a snicker out of this one. More of an "oh, f**k, what's that emu-f**king Doug idiot doing now??"

It seems like you will see a Liberty Mutual ad more than 50 times in a month if you watch enough TV.

The disclaimer... 'Do Not Attempt" - to have a massive spider bite you. Confused
Because you know these Gen Z Tide Pod eating airheads would try this.

When I was a kid in the 70s Spider-Man was my favorite superhero.

Now he's in ridiculous, annoying ads with an emu that everyone hates selling insurance.

If you live long enough you get see your heroes become the villains, I guess.

that spider commercial gave me a week’s worth of nightmares - I will definitely not be buying their insurance - wonder if they realize they just turned away all potential archnaphobic clients?

I'm a big Spidey fan myself. I loved him in the comics and cartoons in the 70's and 80's. Hated the 70's TV show, hate the new comics, hate the movies, hate the cartoons. Hate just about every portrayal of the character since the mid-90's. I don't know what happened. Confused

The 90s happened.

I try to accept that the current "Spider-Man" isn't the "Spider-Man" I grew up with. I understand that characters are going to change in long running comics...sometimes for the better. (Or worse depending on your point of view) Iron Man wasn't even that popular when I was a kid (though I liked him...it helped that the artist *Bob Layton* lived in my hometown back in the day. But he was a pretty cold blooded hero, not the snarky guy you see nowadays. (Seriously, back in the 70s/80s Iron Man didn't directly kill his enemies but he dang sure didn't bat an eye if circumstances caused them to croak). Luke Cage was a blaxploitation money grab when created but his current incarnation is far better.

I can't get into the new Spidey, though. It might be age or just memories of the old stories. Or the fact that there's like three of the now or something?

Sorry...I sometimes get too into comics talk.

Now we have Hyundai Spider Man.
Does every commercial have to promote something else?

*So this car is in the new movie, I still can't understand why Liberty Mutual has to promote it...unless they were the insurance company of the flick? Who knows, thinking too much into this silliness.
