We might have to make an ongoing thread about these gawd-awful Kentucky Fried Chicken commercials that have been polluting the airwaves in recent years. The viral videos of people saying "spork!" ... the D-Lister Colonel Sanders carousel ... Now, we have this. Stupid. Annoying. Tone deaf. People. Singing. Stupid. Song. Good. God. Just. Kill. Me. Now. Dead

Maybe I'm tired from work, but what's their point?  "The Colonel's back!"  "The chicken's flying free." What's that stuff even mean?

"Grilled" was about the only edible chicken on the menu. I don't like heavily breaded/battered anything. I tried a chicken pot pie and it seemed OK although something made me think it was made with leftover chicken.

I don't mind breading, but not when bones are involved. When I see breading on chicken it tends to activate my "eat now, question later" instinct...which is not good when you end up with a mouthful of undercooked bone marrow...

Breading and delicate eating don't go together.

Hey Pa,
Have you given any thought as to how you'd want to film the crucifix scene yet?
I think you could probably substitute a chicken leg, and maybe feature a can of Crisco somehow.  Shocked

^^^LOLI've been trying to figure out how to get a great camera shot with the brat's shirt opened and 'The Colonel's Original Recipe Of Eleven Herbs And Spices' carved into his chest and belly.

The only person who could do KFC Colonel Sanders commercials right was Colonel Harland Sanders. And NO one else. It shouldn't be hard to air a Colonel Sanders ad from the 1970s in honor of him. But no! KFC decides to use D-list SNL talent to annoy the heck out of us. So, f--k off KFC.

I've seen adverts for them all the time, but never once lived anywhere near one.

I also like Popeyes, but their pricing and quality between locations is not consistent.
If I find a Popeyes in 'da hood, just like Church's, or KFC, it's going to be spectacular with low prices, but likely to get shut down by the board of health.
Anywhere else? Fast food.

I worked at Church's...gooood chicken!

They go through quite a process to prepare the meat.
First, they marinate the whole bird for a full 24 hours.
Then, employees cut the bird into 8 pieces on this bad ass saw, it's in the cooler so it gets difficult to keep good dexterity with cold hands.
A 3 step batter process and 12 1/2 minutes in boiling oil....That's some goooood chicken!

I still appreciate Popeye's efforts at "Louisiana Fast".
I've been there.  There ain't nothing fast about any of it.

Still, I think if they repeat it often enough, they might actually start to believe it themselves.

Back in the Texas days...whenever there was a need to butter-up the in-laws, I'd either grab by father-in-law and go get some beers and a boatload of Church's chicken, although the one thing everyone fought over the most were the poppers. We would have all the families together and waiting when Pops & I would get back. The rest of the elders, brothers, sisters, kids - whoever was around - would raid the table and within 5 minutes I'd be left standing in my beer & tears.
I always drove and paid...and paid...and paid...

How does KFC NOT realize something is wrong when they have to hire like 4 different actors to play Colonel Sanders? And the poster above who asked,"Why not just bring back the old ads of the real Colonel Sanders from the 70s?" was spot on. It would be so much better than this crap they are doing now!
My name is Donathan, pronounced the same way you pronounce Jonathan, except with a D. :D $608 for her brother's scooter. Fair is fair my ass. Being tough on Public Access TV is priceless.

Showing the old original Col. Sanders would just bore today's youth, which is who they're attempting to reach.

Gotta be what passes for edgy and "out there" in order to appeal to the current generation of disposable income disposers.
