Well friends, now you can try it.

On April 27th (2009 probably) they will give you one piece of their grilled fare for free:

KFC President, Roger Eaton, announces KFC will offer customers one free piece of Kentucky Grilled Chicken on Monday, April 27.

I wonder if you can choose the piece...  I prefer butts and backs.

Hmmmm I did not hear about that free offer, but since I am on their email list I got the email advertising their new grilled chicken.  I would like to give it a try as well.  I don't like El Pollo Loco chickens, cause they look so 'tiiiinnnnyyyy' on the grill and that lemon juice they soak em in makes em look jaundiced...kinda both things creep me out.  When I cook with chicken it's biggest chicken or chicken peices I can find.

Just got another email about this from KFC...

Since Kentucky Grilled Chicken was introduced last week, America has been UNTHINKING what they always thought about KFC; there's a lot more to us than fried chicken! Now, America will get to UNTHINK their definition of "Monday," as KFC introduces "UNFry Day."
KFC is so confident America will love our new Kentucky Grilled Chicken, we're inviting you to sample our newest mouth-watering menu item on “UNFry Day,” Monday, April 27. Consumers are encouraged to stop by KFC throughout the day on “UNFry Day” and receive a FREE* piece of Kentucky Grilled Chicken.

Visit www.unthinkfc.com to view commercial outtakes, upload your personal video of the chicken dance and download a cool "Get Your Grill On" phone app.

And remember, for a limited time, you can enjoy a two-piece Grilled meal (breast & wing or drumstick & thigh) including two side items and a biscuit for just $3.99 plus tax. (Pricing and participation may vary by location.)

* Free piece of Kentucky Grilled Chicken offer is valid at participating U.S. KFC® restaurants April 27 only. Limit one free piece per person. Free piece selection is at manager’s choice and may vary by location.

plop plop fizz fizz oh what a relief it is..............

There is a 15 second spot on their WWW page about the free piece (of chicken).  I have only heard it once on TV.

You are on their email list?

As Lurch would say...  uh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh.

I think I'll go there Monday and demand a bucket of FRIED chicken!!! I don't visit KFC often, but when I do, I know what I want, and it isn't grilled! When I feel like hardening my arteries a little, I want the Real McCoy, not some PC glop that's healthy for me. Dead

The Center for Science in the Public Interest can go straight to He!!. Who asked them, anyway. They got this whole thing rolling way back with the movie theater buttered popcorn debate. Same response as to KFC: I go to very few movies. But when I go to watch the new Star Trek Movie in a few weeks, I want a huge tub of buttered popcorn, a 60 ounce Coke Classic (too bad you can specify Coke with beet sugar, rather than corn sugar), and maybe even a Hershey Bar with almonds.

Next thing you know, KFC will be making their chicken out of tofu, like those PITA PETA idiots during Thanksgiving.

Sorry about the rant. I can't imagine whatever got into me! Evil%20Smile

IT IS!!  Hubby and I got a regular bucket of original yesterday and the two-piece grilled chicken to try it out (didn't wanna order a whole bucket of it and then end up wasting our money if we didn't like it), then wished we had gotten a bucket of grilled.  LOL

It's really good - tasted just like it was grilled outside, the kind of chicken you have at a backyard cookout.  Big%20smile

It really does taste like that.  I only hope that they do keep it and not drop it after a couple of months.

I'm still stuck on this "famous" food "stars" thing here.
Sandra Lee is kind of famous, to me.
The other guy is who? No one I've ever seen. Is he LL Cool J?

I don't know about the rest of you, but the first time I tried KFC grilled, it was AWESOME! Now, it tastes like crap. They've gotten lazy, just like they always do. I hate this town.

the first time I saw one of these horrible adds was on the internet.  The add featured some girl with  a drumstick in each hand  dancing around like a complete tool.  Its like "oh my god, this grilled chicken is so good, I am going to make a complete fool of myself and dance around with a couple of drumsticks".   She never eats it, just does this stupid dance with her drumsticks like they are a couple of the worlds best tasting maracas.

This add made me want to bang my head on my desk at work for a good 6 minutes.
