How about a little 'class' from our UK brethren?
Either of these commercials ride the razor's edge between classy and sappy.
I like them both - especially the Genesis cover (by Adeline) with the snowman (which is a FAKE commercial, created for a school project by a student).
This first one has caused a bit of racial discomfort in the UK (which I mention as that is the way it was brought to my attention by some who felt people of colour had no business representing the BritishConfused).
And now, the FAKE John Lewis commercial, which was simply for a class project, has resulted in the kid being offered jobs, demands from others than HIS commercial is better than the above and should replace it, along with him getting hired by John Lewis...now, I've not continued to follow this story.
Now, looking back at the silly 'outrage' caused by the first (those folks need to calm down and take a peek at their calendar) and the classiness of the second, *I* would suggest John Lewis buy and brand the second and use BOTH commercials, this year.

John Lewis department stores operate in the UK, Wales, and Scotland and have put out classy Xmas ads for about 10 years.
