Alright, I've held out long enough. I don't see another topic about it, and while yogurt commercials are notorious for being unoriginal, these take the cake.
Who in their right mind would take a video of themselves whispering around the family that "they're no longer slow", and then upload it on over to a has-been celebrity like Jaimie Lee Curtis? |

Unfortunately no, and I've pretty much scoured the Internet looking for it.

That's what bugs me about the one where she is still b*tching about what she ate at the holidays. Since its now almost 5 weeks later, why hasn't she exploded or something?

What bugs me is how incredibly fake and stupid those commercials are. Think about it.
You're walking outside and Jamie Lee Curtis (or any other celebrity) shows up. Sure you might go "JAMIE LEE CURTIS!" but then would you begin to tell her how fat bloated and unable to shi....er....regulate your digestive system?
It also annoys me because if you *think* you need to eat this crud to *regulate* your digestive system, maybe you should see a doctor. I know if I were having problems shi....er...regulating my digestive system I wouldn't think "I need some Activia!". (Prune juice, maybe).

I don't understand how someone can have such a great body and such horrible hair. Every time I see her in a commercial, that's the only thing I think of...........not the product. She should wear a wig or something.

I think that's the humorous part of the ad- how she's a pretty famous person (maybe less so than before) and people come up to her and immediately start talking "digestive issues."
Not that it's my favorite commercial, but I do like Curtis. She's down-to-earth, which is probably why she's doing an ad campaign like this. You know, like when she posed in a magazine showing her body with and without Photoshopping.
However, wasn't there some kind of problem with their claiming that yogurt moves things along, so to speak?? I could swear they were supposed to quit making those claims...........unless the commercials are now getting around it somehow? I haven't been paying close enough attention.

They've begun to word it in such a way that you could substitute "Chocolate" or "urine" in place of activia from what I've nticed. They don't make actual "claims". Thats how they ot around it.
As for Curtis, she may be contracted to do these ads. I don't actually get mad at her personally for them. If they offered me a shiload of money to hawk yogurt I'd probably do it unless the yogurt actually harmed people.

Oh, is that what they were supposed to do? Take a video of themselves talking about it?
That's not what I first thought of when I heard these ads...

I like Jamie Lee Curtis, but her "new normal" sh!t diaries thing is just a bit over the top.
Guess it gives new meaning to the classic phrase "Merry Christmas...sh!tter was full!" |

Slightly OT, but I just found out that Jamie Lee will be a guest star on an upcoming episode of NCIS. I wonder if she'll be helping Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly find their "new normal."

I assume that her old normal was rock-hard constipation and she waited months(?) or years(?) before she thought maybe something was not right? |

Coincidentally, I saw it. Her character invites Gibbs on a late-night dinner date at the end of the episode. I wonder if the meal included Activia yogurt? |

Actors are like the rest of us, in that they have to take work where they can find it. While most of these ads are very lame, they are just "jobs" for the celebs who participate. Jaimie Lee is no different from the occasional schmuck who shows up in a bad "SyFy Original Movie". It's about name recognition, which is all these people have to market themselves. Don't blame the actors, just blame the ad agencies!

Imagine being able to make the kind of money she must be getting paid, just to make what..... 4 to 6 commercials a year?
They probably take all of about 2, maybe 3 days to shoot & wham, she's back home lounging by the pool, shopping & having lunch with her gal pals on Rodeo Drive, or doing whatever else rich Hollywood bitches do with all the free time they have.
Just another reason NOT to buy the damned stuff AFAIC.
Why help her ass make such a comfy living doing nothing while you're out busting your ass everyday just be able to buy groceries period, much less waste your hard earned money on some gimmick yogurt?
If I want yogurt, I'll buy the grocery store brand that doesn't make me sh*t my drawers, for 50 cents a cup.

I'm guessing that the woman in this commercial has no threshold for embarrassment.
There is no way I'd approach a stranger, no matter famous or not, and "dump" my excretory woes on them. "Hey Jamie Lee Curtis! I can't crap!".

I loathe this flippin' ad for its use of the term "new norml". Our family has had a lot of losses within the past year and a half and we've been hearing that term a lot to describe your new life after you've lost someone. Not something I want to be reminded of when I watch TV, especially when you're talking about taking a dump. No thanks, Activia.
