Oh yeah I've seen this one. They guy tells her it's ok for her to pass gas in his apartment and she tels him no, because "It will linger for days" LOL

Stupid PSA. So now a smoker is supposed to decline permission to smoke in someone else's home?
I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next person who says Shenanigans!!!

I'm a non-smoker and it makes sense.  Cigarette smoke is offensive to me as essence o'fart.

If someone wants to enjoy their own fart cloud - great.  But please don't force me to enjoy it with you.

I used to smoke, I only quit 2 years ago because my wife wanted me to quit. My beef with the anti-smoking Nazis is this: they are legislating that people cannot smoke in public places. I think Iowa has already made this a law. wtf. Ermm What's next, legislating the number of times a person can go to a fast food joint, how many sweets a person can buy at the store, limit the amount of ice cream I can eat in a week? People can't smoke in open air public places anymore? That's pretty crazy.

I, for one, am GLAD that they're banning smoking everywhere. I hate hate HATE walking down the street behind smokers and having their nasty death stick fumes make its way into my nose. Just because you want to kill yourself slowly with each puff doesn't mean that you need to drag me down into the grave with you.

Even though this commercial is stupid, it makes a valid point. Go "pass your gas" elsewhere. Just don't do it around me.

BTW - if you ever come to the Mooch house and you are a smoker who needs their daily death fix, you will be told to go smoke it outside and around the corner from the house so we won't have to smell it. No one in my house smokes and we certainly don't want that smell lingering.

I like these commercials because unlike the Truth douches, it doesn't tell you not to smoke, it just tells you not to smoke around people who don't.

Actually, they are doing this. Thay have passed laws to take vending machines out of schools. They have passed laws banning smoking here and there, and even in cars in certain places. And I have even heard some LOONS talking about making a law that fast food and other restaurants can't sell their goods (or certain dishes or portions) to overweight people. I guess all the chairs will be scales, and when you sit on them they'll scream, "FATASS!! FATASS! FATASS!! NOTIFY WEIGHT WATCHERS IMMEDIATELY!!!!" kind of like when someone has had too much to drink and the bartender cuts them off. I can see it now, " Sir, please put the Big Mac down and step away from the french fries!!"

BUT At the same time, drinking is ok, and some of the same folks who hate ciggarettes are trying to leagalize pot!!! Go f**kin figure!!!

I'm not saying whether or not I oppose or aggree with these certain things, I'm just stating facts.

I habor no ill feelings towards anyone who wants to smoke.
HOWEVER, I personally do not see the need to smoke around others who don't - and NEVER in front of children.

I'm a former smoker. I quit eight years ago. I had tried several times before. If you've never smoked, you have NO idea how hard it is to quit and stay quit.  It's harder to quit than heroin. And it used to be perfectly acceptable in public, at work, in theaters, in the freakin' food store. (I remember my folks smoking at Shop-Rite! I still can't quite believe it, but there ya go.)

Most of the time I hate being around smoke. Sometimes it smells good to me, but mostly it stinks. However, I try really hard not to be one of those reformed smokers. As long as smoking is legal, smokers should not be treated like criminals.

I let my friends smoke in my apartment, because I love to entertain and hang with friends, and I want them to be comfortable.  It's gross, and it's hell getting the apartment back to not stinking like an ashtray, but it's my choice to have my friends here.  I think I might have to change that soon, because I'm starting to have allergic reactions, but I'm dealing with it as long as I can.

There's a neighboring town that has outlawed smoking in condos.  EVEN IF YOU OWN YOUR CONDO. If there are other domiciles in the same building, no smoking.  It's also becoming law that you cannot smoke if you have a child in the car.

You can no longer smoke in parks or at the beach.  I think that is absolutely ridiculous. It's OUT IN THE FRESH AIR.  I mean, there is room to avoid the smoke.

This really is becoming a nanny state, and it's bullsh*t.  San Francisco is making restaurants post calories and fat content of foods.

I have not seen the ad mentioned.

I'm a non-smoker. I once held a lit cigarette for one of my colleagues. That's the "extent" of my smoking experience. I've never had an interest in starting because no one in my family smoked and I hung out with friends who weren't interested either.

I can remember when smoking was allowed in public places. I was a kid and even then I hated the smell. (I also remember how dirty the streets were before the bottle law.) Then in the 80s came smoking sections which didn't help much because the smoke just drifted over to non-smoking. Now I can go into a restaurant or bar and not have to worry about smelling like an ashtray.

The company where I work doesn't allow smoking within a certain distance of the building. They don't provide any receptacles so as I'm walking to the door I see the nicely manicured grounds littered with cigarette butts. A local hospital has now banned smoking on all its grounds. The tide has turned and it's now a non-smoker's world (at least in the U.S.).

And what about overweight people addicted to fast food? That's a choice they have made like the choice to smoke. At least I'm not sharing the Big Mac but in the past I did get to inhale the Newports right along with the smoker.

That WAS a real article! The photo alone is enough to floor even the semi-intelligent individuals. To somewhat one-up it, one afternoon last week, I was sitting in MissyD's store when a very prego female walked in and got herself 2 cheap 40 oz. beers. She smiled and thanked MissyD for selling the beers to her unborn...

Well, I hate to be a facetious asshole, but here goes. It doesn't matter than smoking is "out in the fresh air". If all those harmful chemicals can kill people. imagine what they do to the ozone layer.
And smoking in public is just not acceptable. I'm sorry, but just because someone else wants to cough and stink and blacken their lungs doesn't mean that I also desire this. And I shouldn't have to leave just because someone ELSE is ruining my time.
