"Hey Dad," the kid mumbles, in a tone of voice akin to having rocks in his mouth.  "I can't get the top off of this ketchup bottle..."

"Here...let me try it" says Dad...

<cue dramatic music> "Mmmpf..... AAAACK!... <kill music>

"Yeah, it's stuck alright..." <pause>

"OK, if you take your palm like this and smack it on the bottom, you can get it open pretty easy."

OK, aside from the fact that this commercial reeks of the sweet touchy-feely political correctness of anything Ad Council, who the Sam Hill can get the top off of a ketchup bottle by SMACKING IT ON THE BOTTOM??

This is one that guarantees I will dive for the volume control...

CryYa know...you folks are really hurting my feelings, being a 'foster child', myself.
I always asked 'Dad' for advice on everything...he always treated me as his 'red-headed stepchild'; ignored me. And, well..being of Irish descent, I HAD red hair.
He always told me to play in the street.
When we were in crowds and I said, "Hey Dad...", he would take me to the nearest policeman and claim he found a 'lost child' and try to leave me.
I just wanted to say "Hey Dad" ONCE - JUST ONCE, DAMMIT! - and have him answer - to make me feel as if I 'belonged'.
Hope you folks feel like crap for making fun of this commercial.
And Yea, I made up this whole story.

Pa, I've known you too long here to fall for that.  Still, it was funny.

Oh my word, that ad has been played to death! And it's actually trying to get people to adopt teens from fostercare. MY favorite radio station used to play it at least once every commercial break.
This is your brain on commercials.
