(For MissyDWolf...she can't stand subtitles and gets cranked when people start yapping in gibberish, or, well, some other language. For me...it's the screaming).
I wouldn't share if I were that guy, but I'd probably pay for someone to take the biatch off my hands.

I dunno, I just love this commercial.

Strikes a chord as we've seen this EXACT same thing happen with some Italian relatives. that "I hate you more than Lucifer hates God! I love you more than eternity! I HATE YOU AGAIN."

I barely know a word of Italian, but the thing is I could actually understand this commercial perfectly without them. It's a wonderful thing that about 70% of the Italian language is hand gestures/sign language.

When did ice cream decide to go the sexy sells route? Sick of this sh*t. I'm totally in the market for gelato but thanks to this POS ad I won't be trying the haagen-dazs version. Stop trying to act like you're really European! You were created by 2 Bronx dudes and given a made up "foreign sounding" name.
It's ok, I'm in marketing!

I'm so glad M&M ice cream cones don't advertise, because if they did, they probably would go the sex route.
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

Ok, the first one I was 50/50 on, but this one and the other like it I simply loathe. Commercials like this were among my greatest fears when deciding to buy a big TV, and sure enough, a bunch 3-foot-wide mouths in my living room belching out the name of an ice cream is sickening. I think I could actually see strep on the one guy's throat.

I have a funny feeling real European Italians don't act this way - these are New York Italians, right? And all Italian-Americans only eat ice cream that make mock attempts at Italian culture, right?

I actually do have some Italian (From Italy) family members who DO act like this. In fact, I remember about five fights in a two day period when they visited us.

Ironically, they have one of the happiest marriages of anyone in the family.

I think it's regional, though. Our family is Tuscan, but I've never met, say, anyone from Sicily who has this "mood swing" genetic trait.

That said, I've only rarely liked Haagen Daz. These mouthy commercials ensure It'll be a LONG time until I try another flavour of theirs.

Just because I'm Italian and have these "mood swings" doesn't make me want your version of gelato!!!

Haagen Dazs is the best!  I don't know about their gelato, though.  I've only had gelato a few times.  Thought it had the consistency of toothpaste.  Not horrible, though.

Talenti is my go-to for gelato. They get it right. Also...sea salt caramel.

Personally, what I've tried of Haagan Daz...is underwhelming. I'm a ben&Jerry's boy.

Ben&Jerry's if I can't get to a Graeter's, then it's Toffee Chip all day. Big chunks of toffee and their legendary chocolate. If you get it around Easter it has hunks of the chocolate bunnies that got broken.

Even typing a couple sentences about it is like sex.

Toffee ice cream?

.....Dear lord, sir, you speak of heavenly visions, dreams and fantasies; surely nothing that can exist in the realm we humans reside in.

Surely, you jest.

Nope, I speak truths, only truths. Sometimes even brutally. It's one of the most delightful things I've ever eaten.

http://www.graeters.com/toffee.aspx

The Heath bits are skinned, as in no chocolate on them, and when the say chocolate "chips", it's really chunks. And the Easter thing is true too. I always treat myself to a couple scoops around Easter, this year I got a whole ear in my ice cream.. about the size of my index finger.

I think it's because B&J mix it with a coffee ice cream (Never seen a Heath bar by itself).

I cannot stick coffee. The smell, the flavour...any of it.

I also hate peanuts and their butter. (Though, when bulking I have gagged through a pint for the calories)

On one episode of COOK'S COUNTRY, there was a taste-test for chocolate ice cream. Haagen-Dazs was the least-liked out of the ones tested, while Ben & Jerry's was the winner. Interesting what you find out on public television. Now I've been to a real gelato place (in Hunt Valley, MD, where I attend horror conventions), and it's amazing when compared to ice cream (so smooth).

Doesn't gelato have a higher egg content?

Love coffee myself, but the Ben & Jerry's coffee toffee thing is conflicting flavor overkill to me. I can see why you wouldn't like it even if you did like coffee. The toffee gets lost in the coffee. The Graeter's version is hands down superior. It's a Cincinnati-based company that is branching out, California just started getting the store-pack stuff (which is slightly inferior to the parlor scoops, but still good). Maybe it'll find its way your way.

Doubted, seeing as local stores never seem to bring in new products. I had to go out of town just to get B&J's new peppermint crunch ice cream (Also got their Canolli one; both were amazing). Getting Talenti or any other high-end ice creams...nigh on impossible without a "stay overnight" trip to one of the big cities.

I tried gelato in Italy and it was very good. The best was from a street cart in Zagreb Croatia. They are across the Adriatic Sea from Italy. They have wonderful traditional and fusion Italian food.

Haagen Dazs chocolate isn't real strong-tasting, and that's why I like it.  Even as a kid, when I made Nestles Quik, I put less powder in than the recipe called for.  That, and the creaminess is why I like H-D.  Same with the vanilla.

Indeed.
We've always found food outside the U.S. to have more 'flavor', no matter what it is. Often what you receive is nowhere near as 'homogenized', thus always a 'crap shoot' as to if you will be 'shooting crap' a few hours after dinner. More often than not, it is worth the risk.
Don't drink the water.
