The song (the classic "I Got Life" from the musical "Hair" of course) has been cut back in the newest version of this ad, but it still has the enigmatic lyric "got my haid." What is a "haid?" (I've never heard anyone refer to the top of their body as their "haid." What part of the country is that from?)

I think it sounds like "Cut my hair, cut my haid".
That voice is worse to me than fingernails on a chalkboard

Seems that it's sung by Nina Simone. I'd have sworn it was a guy.

the teachers in the 60s-early 70s  would play this song in P.E. sometimes as it catalogs body parts
i remember intensely disliking it then and guess what

My god, I didn't realize that was Simone either. But I just fond here recording and confirmed it. Still, "haid" seems odd.

This makes 2 commercials for Simone at the moment - her version of "Feeling Good" in the Trelegy ad.

Of course, they entirely missed the point of the song lol. But the real question - they played it even with the word "tits" in it?

That's nothing new. I remember how Iggy Pop's Lust for Life was used for some vacation cruise commercial like 20 years ago. However, I don't think they used "liquor, drugs and the flesh machine" part.

No - not the commercial. I was talking about the gym teachers that Tikibaggers mentioned.
