Obviously trying to sell you something.

Nine more months and I'll be eligible to apply for Medicare.

Then I'll have to look for a Part B plan that will cost extra.

I'm guessing I'll be looking at about $200 a month.

Maybe a little less, hopefully.

They asked for my insurance card when I got my shot, ut oh, how much will this cost me?  I still have the card but I cancelled the insurance months ago.

All I have is basic Medicare. My Aetna coverage through work takes precedence over Medicare. I don't even show my Medicare card at the doctor's.

I forget what they take out of my paycheck for the Aetna. Maybe $100/mo?

If I can get part B for $200 after I retire, I'll be happy.

Isn't having Medicare AND employer provided health insurance a waste of money, as I'm guessing you're paying for both?

You could've forgone Medicare until you were about to quit or retire, then dropped Aetna and gone on Medicare.

Or at least that's the way I think it would work.

No. Basic Medicare (Part A?) is free, and takes a few minutes to sign up for.

It's Part B or Supplemental or whatever, that costs. I'm not there, so I don't know that much.

Doing commercials like this is a sign your career is dead, but it doesn't matter for Jimmie as he didn't have much of a career outside of Good Times.

I think this is the same company that also has Joe Namath as spokesman.
