That reminds me of something. I used to read a lot of Joseph Wambaugh novels years ago. If you're not familiar with him, he's an ex LAPD detective turned author and all of his novels are about the LAPD. In one, titled "The Glitter Dome", these two vice cops called The Weasel and The Ferret had arrested a flasher who the other vice cops called "Tuna Can Tommy". Upon looking at some Polaroids the flasher had taken of himself "exposed", one of the two cops who wasn't familiar with him, saw why he had been given that nickname. He was three inches in diameter but only two inches long. Exactly like a tuna can. |

I've heard that slang used all of my life, never personally used it...in fact, I'm sure I've never even said it. Now you've had me look it up when all I had to do was ignore your post and finished living my life and dying a happy man, but noooooooooooo!

LoL - when did they put that silly "fearless girl" statue up? I'm familiar with the Bull (bully up / bear down) I'm a Financial Planner, but I've never seen this girl statue - is it new? Where's the cell phone and selfie stick? Anyway, I much prefer this pic:

Why does that statue exist, exactly?
As for the commercial, I always assumed the mom was getting home from work and came across her daughter. Second the stuff about "creative" suburbanites and helmets on a big wheel. Half the time I didn't even wear one on my bike starting around 7 or so probably. |

I really don't get why that statue exists. I mean women are only one of many groups who have fought for equal rights, and let's face it that statue looks white as hell. So is the message that white women are more important than everybody else or what? |

...aren't they? Ya think she should look a little more like a 'Little Orphan Mammy'? Or maybe more like a melting-pot single-parent(adopted) brat? Truthfully, I wouldn't think it matters what the kid looks like in the statue as long as the message is clear. 'Women' may be the toughest group to fight for equal rights - a lot of things don't happen without women. They hold a 'Million Women March', we end up holding a 'Two Million Blue Ball March'. Give women their due and let the little girl statue look however they want it to look as long as they are happy and we get laid.
