Do you notice things about their choices and the filming process?

Where there's really stupid sound or line, or someone gets gross stuff on them, I think about the fact that they probably shot the scene 70 times and the actor just had to keep redoing it.

I notice they always say "2 times the amount..." instead of "twice the amount"...  or "double the amount..." I'm thinking it's to drag out the phrase so people have to listen to it, whereas twice or double go by too quickly. Or because "times the amount" can make people think of larger numbers than 2, the minimum multiplier, and they may think they heard 3 times the amount, or another number.

I notice that they use older female voices when they want something to sound like a kid is talking.

I notice that the more times a phone number is repeated, the sleazier the product. Phone number given 3 times is sleazy. 4 times is super sleazy.

There's a site called tvtropes.org, and a large section of it is devoted to the different media and methods of advertising.  It discusses the various tropes which are used, headscratchers (submitted by readers) and YMMV items.

There was another site (which is now in the Internet dustbin) that was called "Television Without Pity" or TWOP.  This site had a user forum, and a large portion of that forum was devoted to commercial and other advertising discussions.  It was a wealth of information, actually.
