Saw it a few minutes ago, already despise it. Loud version of "My Favorite Things."
Samsung already has that other ad with that babbling garbage hip hop tune. |

Aw, Samsung took another dig at Apple. S'pose that makes them feel better about that latest lawsuit loss. It seems to me that you might actually be doing MORE to get the same job done. Call me stone knives and bear skins if you want, but I don't see a benefit from this technology.

That's what I thought too. Real slick, I guess they are trying to ease it in. Add festive music, but visually it still looks like a regular "Off-Holiday Season" commercial. In 3, 4 week they will change it to Toys and gift wrapped presents and other BS.
I have Apple Pay, I've never used it and I sure as hell won't put my debit card on it. Too many security flaws I fear. Heck, I get a tad nervous simply using an ATM with these card skimmers now. |

It's probably for the younger crowd. They grew up with the 'net and probably don't give the wisdom of this sort of thing a second thought. |

Oh! So THAT's was that music was?!
It was so gutter-trashed-urbanized I didn't recognize it. Think I'll stick with the original Rodgers and Hammerstein version. Although, the John Coltrane version is pretty good too. And for those of us a little too young to remember... (A cover by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQoZJLy8utw Enjoy! |

I don't like the way she sings "ki-enz" and "mi-enz" instead of kittens and mittens.

Yep! I too noticed "ki'-nz" and "mi'-nz" drivel and HATED it immediately. They think it sounds "hip" and trendy. The reality is something very different. |

Not trying to be a buzzkill, but these mobile phone payment systems are actually much safer because of how they process. They use a tokenization system, where a single-use payment authorization code is transmitted to the retailer, instead of your actual card info. So when their systems get breached (like what happened with Target and Home Depot last year), your card info is still safe. For this same reason, the card info can't be "skimmed". When I started using Google Wallet (now Android Pay) a few years ago, an older woman at McDonalds expressed concern about the idea, asking "what happens if your phone gets stolen?" If my phone gets stolen, Android Pay still won't work without a PIN or fingerprint. Additionally, I can disable my phone from any computer or phone. But if somebody steals my physical debit card, they can buy all sorts of stuff by running the transactions as "credit", which only requires a scribble on a signature line, or a zip code conveniently located on my drivers license (which is also in the stolen wallet). Disabling it requires calling my bank after hours (good luck) at a phone number listed on the back of the stolen card. I'm just as guilty as many others of getting caught up in using tech for tech's sake. But mobile payments are one of the few cases where the "new way" has quantifiable advantages. The fact that the US is still using Mag-Stripe credit cards is a damn joke.

Just in the news yesterday---15 million T-Mobile customers have been hacked due to a breach at Experian, and had their information stolen. |

And they claim to help you keep your credit in order or even improve your credit score.
Gee, thanks Experian!

I guess now they can make a new commercial where the credit swagger bitch walks into retailer after dealership after bank and everyone she meets just gives her the ol' "talk to the hand" hand and says, "Oh yeah, EVERYONE knows YOUR credit score".

The NEW 'Samsung Pay' commercial gnaws at me with the sista what proclaims "we fancy..."...I don't like it - nope! Not one bit. Feels very, very wrong.
