I used to love this channel, being it airs classic TV shows from the 50s up until about the 90s. However, recently, they've joined the other networks in squeezing the credits, so that they can get to the intro of the next show quicker.
I emailed Antenna TV and got a canned reply from someone telling me that more viewers wanted a "seamless" transition to the next show. However, if you look at the Antenna TV Facebook page, it seems that quite a few people are actually very annoyed by this. What's ironic is the network's slogan is "TV The Way it Was Meant to Be". Looks like I'll be watching MeTV more now. I got rid of cable to avoid crap like this, and now Antenna TV has turned into TV Land. I'm actually curious at what idiot viewer decided this was a good idea.

I noticed that too. But they only do it when going from one program to a different one.
IOW... They always run two 30 minute programs of each show, two back to back. For example, at the top of the hour when they transition from say, the second Dennis the Menace episode to the first Leave it to Beaver, they'll squeeze the credits of the second DtM while LitB is starting. Then when going from the first LitB episode to the second one, they don't squeeze. When they transition from the second LitB to the first Mr Belvedere, they squeeze the credits of the second LitB.
Doesn't really bother me, though I imagine they do it so they can squeeze one more commercial into the middle of the show. |

I watched a little today, and I thought I caught it on both episodes of the hour (it was Mr. Belvedere). If it's just one or the other, it doesn't bother me as much. But if all the shows do it, then yeah I'll be a little annoyed.

I could be wrong, but I've noticed for the past two days they did it at the end of the 2nd Dennis but not the first Beaver.

So they only squeeze the Beaver half the time?

We don't get Antenna TV, so I don't get to see the squeezing thank god. Watch out, that's a sign that by 2025, Antenna TV will turn into another TV Land clone, airing Andy Griffith in 40 minutes with 21 minutes of commercials! Keep complaining and maybe they will stop before it gets out of hand.

Well...first they started squeezing the first episode of each hour.
Then...they started doing both episodes, but on daytime. Then...they started doing all the daytime shows except for Leave it to Beaver, and the shows during the overnight hours. Now...they've started squeezing credits during weekend shows, as of today. Yep...I'm done with this channel. I got rid of cable to avoid crap like this, and now Antenna TV is becoming TV Land Lite. No thanks.

I honestly don't mind it.
As long as they run good shows that I like to watch, it doesn't bother me what they do with the opening & closing credits. They're doing it with the b2b episodes of Barney Miller at 6 pm weeknights, too. |

GSN has been crunching credits for years. I hope that over the air Buzzr channel from FremantleMedia gets picked up in my local market because I cannot stand GSN's credit crunching and constant promotion of their stupid GSN Originals.

The only thing that really irked me is speeding up and cutting of the Mister Ed Show's opening credits. What that horse is doing is not natural! I don't mind them shrinking the closing credits just as long as they don't use that time for big, loud, promos! |

One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

Indeed.
Squeezing the credits isn't what would bother me. It's the cutting out of entire scenes to make extra ad time (pretty sure that's been/being done, too.)

I think GSN cuts out parts of Match Game to make time for their obnoxious promos for all their GSN original crap like Skin Wars.
