Sometimes I used to get stuck going to this tapas restaurant in San Francisco.  The idea is that each person you're with orders a particular plate of Caribbean food, and then everyone shares what they ordered.  I hate it.  People wanna order this weird sh*t that I have no interest in, but I have to have some of it if I wanna get a full meal's worth of food.  And it's not cheap either.  I hate that kind of cultural sh*t.  Women seem to like it, though.  Maybe they like the whole "sharing" experience.

I hated this place, especially considering that two doors down was a really good burrito place.

^I would hate that too. MrsD and I will share sometimes if we're some place new, or trying new menu items, but only when it's discussed beforehand.

Otherwise, we're back-of-the-hand-fork-stabbers.

MINE!

Thank you, Taco Bell, for "getting it".

Tried the tapas thing once with the wife. She ordered calamari and escargot for the first time. I stuck with my normal tastes. Chicken and beef. I left hungry. She didn't like hers. I left with a bag of cold squid and snails. Never again.
Say something clever here...

No, I'm too lazy. Imagine it yourself.

Filipinos do this sort of thing, too.  In the lunchroom where I used to work, they'd get together daily for lunch, each equipped with a few Tupperware containers of food.  They'd all sit together, speaking Tagalog, and sticking their forks into each others' Tupperware containers without even asking.  I guess it works for them, but it would drive me nuts.
