Which type(s) of radio commercials do you hate the most?

For me, the top four types that I hate are:

1. Home warranties

2. House flipping

3. Reducing back taxes you owe

4. Credit repair

Oh, and as a bonus, any commercial that repeats the phone number more than twice. That is like nails on a chalkboard.

I have Sirius, so I don't generally get radio commercials.  I was in the dentist office today though, and there was this commercial for hair removal...  Something about the woman's voice irritated the hell out of me.  They played it about ten times in the hour that I was there.

There are very, very, few radio ads I can stand.  Most of them are so annoying and irritating on some level or another that it doesn't even matter what they're hawking.

Any of the fake phone call ads bother me.  Sometimes they even use the same voiceover artist to do both voices and use that phony phone-static sound thing for one of them to make it sound different.  Dead

There is only one man whose voice I like in his ads, and he isn't even a voiceover actor, he's the founder and chairman of his company.  His name is Hayes Barnard and he has the coolest voice everSmile

^^ I've been hearing that - or something similar. The radio Flo doesn't sound like tv Flo at all.

Sappy jewelry ads.

Since I often listen to the radio while driving, I despise any ads that contain sound effects of sirens or honking horns.

I mainly listen to online radio, usually Pandora or a couple Gaelic stations from Ireland which don't have commercials, so I don't have to hear radio ads very often, but when I was a kid and listened to local radio constantly, I couldn't stand car commercials, particularly ones for car dealerships. I don't like any ads where people are screaming at me. Also, in East TN where I went to visit my grandparents as a kid, the local gospel station we listened to had a guy named Carl Pierce, who was always advertising his furniture store. His ads had no entertainment value at all. All he did was just go on and on about what sales he was having. He just would not shut up, and the commercials were way longer than any other ads. Granny would immediately turn it off as soon as she heard his voice.
Commercials are awesome, except the annoying ones.

I don't like when radio show hosts endorse products.  My morning radio guys (Armstrong and Getty) will be carrying on a usual conversation about stuff going on, and suddenly, they'll be talking about Sleeptrain mattress stores.  I can't even tell if they've just made it part of the conversation, or if the commercials are prerecorded.

I hate radio ads that give me gas, heartburn or make me fart.

Especially the ones that give me wet farts.

Those are the worst.

...the ads take aim and lay their claim to the heart and the soul of the spender

You did a great job of covering my most hated. Car dealers and furniture/mattress stores plus any ad with hyper speed talking.

Quote Anything that has a police siren in it. That should be illegal.

And also "911" calls.  911 gets plenty of frivolous calls already, and making one up in an ad only encourages the behavior.  Would like to see the 911 Operators Union to take the ad agencies to task on this one...

As far as other radio ads, there are so many on in an hour now (almost 30 minutes, inc "news" updates) that it makes me turn off the radio.  Maximum ad saturation defeats the purpose of listening to the programming itself, so people eventually stop listening...

I hate Flo's singing commercials. Basketball strike, corduroy pants, Mayor of Savingsville. I HATE THEM ALL!!
I also hate the kazoo "Don't touch that dial - I'm on all of them" ads.

I don't care for ones that announce an 800 number 4 to 5 times during the commercial. 2 is enough times to announce a number.

There's one PSA I can't stand - the stupid Breathe Easies/866-NO-ATTACKS one where they sing "Don't smoke in the h-h-h-h-h-house!" Makes me want to stuff cotton in my ears. You'll find it on the Ad Council's website probably.
Back after a long absence...still hating those commercials. Go away Limu Emu and Doug!

In my town, we have a local radio ad for a dish network satellite dealer who uses his kids in the ads. In the ad, two brats about 8 and 10 years old yell..."don't call the 800 number, call our daddy"....these ads play every five minutes it seems as well.

I hate Flo's new series of radio ads.
"Hey it's Flo from Progressive and here's my impression of (insert here)." There's about 10 of these commercials!

I don't know if these are local commercials, or they are nationwide, but I really f**king hate Motel 6's awful commercials, the narrator's voice is annoying and there is sh*tty music playing in the background of every single one! Angry Angry
