Oh thank God. Another commercial with an indie chick with no emotion in her voice singing a terribly flat, "quirky" cover of an already terrible song. I was afraid we didn't have enough of these.

At least the original actually sounded happy though.
I'm so sick of quirky.  It was bad enough when it was original.  I'm just wondering, now that quirky is the new normal, will they go back to having people who actually sing well - just to be different?

Is it wrong I instantly pictured a homely looking woman in a wool beanie busking on a hipstery corner with her guitar when I first heard her voice?

And there are about 20 comments on the Youtube page, the vast majority of which are sadly in support/favor of the song. It's gonna be a long while before this indie-sh!t phase blows over I'm afraid...

I think using the original version of the song would have been much better.

Christ what a horrible rendition / butchering of a sitcom theme!

Some indie hipster twit will probably be bastardizing the Cheers theme before long.

No I pictured the same thing, black glasses, straight bangs and all.

I wish Target would create their own jingle, however insipid it may be, and leave the modern songs catalog alone!  The very worst offense was when they used The Beatles "Hello Goodbye" to sell toilet paper.  Angry  They were so clever, using "Good Buy" for Goodbye, weren't they?  Evil Smile  I hate all Target commercials.

Can't stand the singer's voice - I just want to shove some $20's into her rainbow crocheted fingerless gloved hands and say "Here! Buy some vocal lessons!"

No, they just need to get her off of the anti-depressants. This will do two things: Improve her vocal range by giving her something closer to real emotion, but more importantly cause her to eventually see how far down she's fallen by willingly being in these commercials.

I don't like this one either, but at least it's not those ultra annoying and grating recorders that are extra loud.
Say something clever here...

No, I'm too lazy. Imagine it yourself.
