There's no one specific commercial for this, but fast food companies (particularly McDonald's) are basically trying to cram milk and apples down kids' mouths with their happy meal commercials.

No one goes to a fast food restaurant for milk and apples, we go to eat and drink sh*t that's the exact opposite of healthy.

So just stop.

The apples come mandatory, along with the fries. As someone who gets happy meals just for the toys, I can attest to this. XD

The milk you can get along with a drink cup as well, though I find here you have to ask. They also have juice boxes :D

I agree, they do seem to push a bit, but the options are nice. I know some people with kids who can't even sniff a carbonated drink without getting hiccups, so the milk or juice is a nice alternative.

These offerings are just to make parents feel better about bringing their kids to fast food places.  Once kids are old enough to have opinions and learn the power of the public tantrum, the apples and milk get replaced by fries and Coke.

I wonder what they're gonna do after the next study reveals that, contrary to long held belief, apples & milk are very unhealthy for you.

If things continue the way they're going, it will eventually get to the point where ALL food is believed to be unhealthy & places like McDonalds will be reduced to charging people to come in & look at pictures of food while eating some flavorless paste that has yet to be determined to be unhealthy.

Although there will be studies being conducted on it...

...or there will be some kind of "Terms of Agreement" that include all the warnings associated with food, that we'll all have to read and sign upon entering KFC and McDonalds.

Got into a discussion last week whether or not food manufacturers should have to disclose that their product is "GMO".  Their argument was that we should be given the choice as to whether or not we want to eat GMO products.  I said "No, there's no scientific reason for such labeling.  All it does is instill fear".  They thought my opinion was "crazy" and that we should be given the choice.  I looked it up later and, sure enough, my "crazy" opinion is the same "crazy" opinion held by the AMA, the WHO, the European scientific community, the AAAS, the Nobel Prize-winning chancellor of UCSF and a host of other health-related organizations, which all oppose mandatory labelling.

Food fears have gotten ridiculous.

I have no problem with GMO's.

If they can cheaply produce & sell tomatoes the size of basketballs & potatoes the size of footballs, I'm all for it.

More food is always better than less food IMO.

Not necessarily.  I've been eating way too much watermelon the past few days, and since then, I need to flush twice.

Oh and just to round out this discussion, the juice in those juice boxes has a ton of sugar in it, just like Coke and Pepsi. Read the label and use your "life of dreams" iPhone to take a picture of your eyeballs popping out of your head from shock.

I like to bring up Golden rice to anti-GMO people.

"GMO is evil!"

"Oh, so you believe that millions of children should suffer and die from malnutrition on a daily basis?"

Exactly.

Just one of the many reasons to despise that ridiculous twit.

His audience consists of gullible, overweight women who are only too willing to believe his tripe about the latest "miracle" spice, or supplement or other substance that will "jump start your metabolism & turn your body into a fat burning machine!!!!

And of course, they're all still overweight a year later.

And those idiotic "demonstrations" of his, where his prop dept rigs up some half-assed representation of some bodily function & all the idiotic empty heads in the audience cheer & applaud like he just cured blindness.

Gawd what a POS of a show!!!!

UGHHH!!!! Sick

I'd like to see him given the death sentence.

Death by eating whatever crap he toted as the ultimate health food, and then having extreme diarrhea for a month...

Parents who deserve for their kids to eat better, would've taken the minute or two that slapping together a peanut butter sandwich and maybe a fruit and water bottle would've required.

Please don't put it on McD's or other fast food to take care of your children. Once you entered those doors, you pretty much signed off on giving your kids fatty crappy food!

Snesgamer.... LOL. That made me think of the parents who are so f**kin lazy they'd rather pay $4 for a box of 2 FROZEN PB&J sammiches iinstead of getting off their lazy arses and making one for 35 cents.
