For the Gents on board (ladies, feel free to read, but consider this a 'MAN'S THREAD')

~~~
Guys...Like me, it is 'That Special Time' for your partner, your best friend, the one that makes this big ol'goofy life worth living...the one YOU would immediately die for.
Yea, YOU know who I;m talking about - YOUR 'better half'; YOUR 'Walking, Talking, Breathing Mattress'.
The Wife.
WHATCHA GONNA GET HER?!
Was she 'naughty'? Or, was she 'nice'?
~~~
CryI'm gonna drag MissyDWolf taHell with me - probably leaving toniight, best I can tell.
I really didn't sleep well at all, last night - constantly up and down. It was 'the dreams'; they were absurd and funny; I actually decided to just say. "I can't take this anymore!", and woke myself up.
Anyone that has woke up laughing knpw you end up belching for an hour, as you get youir breathing back in sync.
Anyway, it's all her fault, that's all there is to it.
I'm EXHAUSTED!
She ain't gettin' sh*t, other than a 'Hard Time'.
Had me up at 4 A.M., out in the biting cold, but that was o.k.
We went shopping until 8 A.M., getting groceries for the forthcoming 'Invasion of the Food Snatchers' (our Pups).
She spent a ton of money, which is very unlike her.
"But...I want an 'Old Fashioned XMAS, this year, Hon!..."
"That's fine! Then let's pretend we are BROKE, just as we were back then! LEAVAMYWALLETALONE! LET THE MONEY LIVE!!! PRETEND IT AIN'T THERE - THE 'OLD FASHIONED' WAY!!!"
Fell on 'deaf ears', doncha know.
~~~
It is now 7:30 P.M.
At 2 P.M., she informed me we were going to move my office into the next room as she wanted my office for the 'Kiddy Kristmas Korner' (no no no ....ain't paintin' 'KKK' on the door).
I've been moving heavy furniture and rewiring the heck out of both rooms since then - THIS post is proof positive the wiring went without a hitch, but, well...both rooms look like an 'F4 tornado' tore through them, killing everthing in sight.
I even tossed my computer desk out in the back, in our BIG pup's area...and AidenWolf went right over and 'claimed it' - pissed all over it.  It's no longer coming back inside.
I have used muscles I forgot existed, today. I've been in and out of the biting cold, constantly, wearing t-sh*t and sweat pants. I forgot to get beer for this abortion, doncha kniw.
This is ALL MissyDWolf's fault.
And, other than the Pups coming up, she actually had the audacity to toss me a hint of what SHE would like to find under the tree, or trainwreck, or whatever comes of this mess...
'Santa' always surprises, doncha know.
She's gonna get a wet turd.
~~~
What are YOU GENTS getting YOUR 'BELOVED'?

First, Pa, all I can say is, wow.

Like your better half, Mrs. TK has definite ideas about how things should be done. She's got a little General Patton in her when it comes to Christmas prep. There's a little more stress here this year, and we're running a bit late. Lots of car, appliance, power equipment, and plumbing problems the past month put us behind on the holiday stuff. Just today, the Mrs. decided to put out the last of our outdoor decorations--three lighted wire-frame reindeer which are my nemesis, because they short out whenever it rains a bit, and pop goes the GFCI breaker.

She then said I could go out and run the necessary extension cords "whenever you get a chance." You and I both know that means "drop what you're doing, grab the cords, and get outside now!" Which, of course, I did.

But despite the fact that we do a bit of bickering now and then, she is the love of my life and we've had 34 mostly pretty good years together. This past spring, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but it was caught very early. After surgery, she didn't need any radiation or chemo, and her oncologist said she's as close to zero-risk for recurrence as it gets. So we're very thankful for that.

When she gave us her Christmas list this year, there wasn't much on it, just some little stuff. My son and I decided to upgrade her old TV in the family room to a nice big HD one, so she can watch her DVDs in style.

She'll say we spent too much (actually, I stumbled on a real deal while shopping for something else) but she's worth it!!! Smile

DeadSundayUpdate
7:04 PM.
Life is almost normal in the new office.
The tree is up.
I broke my new (old/refurb) desk while helping her move it, but it is pretty stable - it will wok in a pinch.
My old/old desk is totally trashed.
The overall body pain is from the knees to the bottom of the rib cage has now become an overall numbness. Yea, I know what it is. No, I'm not excited. Yea, I told her I better find a friggin' 'Teeter Hang-Up' already assembled and waiting. The 'high-end' model, doncha know.
I may accidently get it.
She might accidently assemble it.
I'll be happy; jump on, strap in, lean back.
And fall head-first into that wet turd with a bow on it, I'll have left for her.
I wont be happy, but she'll be laughing.

(she is an excellent mechanic, can assemble just about anything, knows what every tool is for and how to use them - so this will have been 'intentional')
