So a gentleman is at the airline checkin counter, and has to go to San Francisco VCs to make a pitch for his company. Unfortunately, his credit card as 3 cats printed on it - could be his pets. This panics the ticketing agent, and she alerts security. An uptight guy is next, who passes over his "American Express", at which the agent smiles and hands him the tickets with her man-hands.

To me the agent is a cardist, and this is a clear case of cardism. How does it matter what my card looks like, as long as I can rake up as much debt I want on it?

I saw this one only once and I just don't understand it.  They make it look like you can only travel for business.  Who cares?  TSA hauls this guy off at a ticket counter because he does not have a card that states business across the top of his credit card.  Ermm  What if he is being reimbursed by his company?  Amex needs to yank this commercial....this is not reality!

I believe this is a subtle slam (hmm, is that actually possible to do, slam subtly?) at Capitol One's ad with the nasty villain guy designing his own card and putting kittens on it. I assumed that they were just taking a jab at the competition and saying they don't make fancy cards, they're all business. Clever in that light, but stupid nonetheless because it really doesn't matter which card you use to buy your tickets.

As long as the little message on the card swipe machine says APPROVED, the airlines wouldn't care if your card had rats on it.

I was going to rant about this one, too.

It's the pretentiousness of American Express that pisses me off 100%. What if the guy with the "kitten" card was a veterinarian? Perfectly noble profession. Or a breeder? That would be more in line with the snootiness this commercial projects.

I tell you what, if that ass grabber tsa idiot thinks for one second that he going to give me a cavity search, I'd slap the unholy sh*t outta him.  I don't care if my card had Saddam in a dress on it, if it is my card and it is legit, process it and shaddup!

Exactly!  I use Amex, but this commercial is incredibly bad!

What's really bad is that the guy isn't simply shunned because he doesn't have Amex, but that they actually CALL SECURITY, who shows up with one of them noisily putting on a rubber glove.  WHAT?!

I dont like ads that are over the top unrealistic.
Just tell me the fine print about your card and why I should consider it.

I still say that if some ass-hat tries to intimidate me by snapping a rubber glove, he is guaranteed a solid dick-punch.

I have a feeling this commercial won't be around long. If that airline didn't want my business cause I had a "cat picture" on my Visa, I'm sure there are others that will.

Yeah, and it's probably one of those airlines that paints kittens on the tail of the plane....
