I'd like to discuss things that have happened in your life that could be considered lucky or divine intervention.   It seems like whenever I lend people money within a week I get back what I lent or even more.   I will give you some examples.   My best friend called me on exactly the same day that my tax refund went into my bank account ( that can't be coincidence the Lord knew I'd say yes and put it on his heart ) asking me to borrow $100.00.  OK no problem I love him very much and have no trouble helping him out.   A few days later I went to the casino, Lost my cellphone and made $140.00 that night at the Casino.  Enough to pay for the month cellphone service and update to a $100.00 phone instead of the $40.00 phone I lost.  Needless to say I told him he does not have to pay me back.

Last week I gave a homeless person some money and a couple other odds and ends like giving a waitress a more then normal tip.    Once again I went to the casino played for 8 hours all night and came out of the casino with $5.00 ahead.    Right before leaving I went to the restroom and noticed that someone had left $6.45 cents in a Wheel of Fortune game.  This was a penny machine and I played down to where I only had 2cents left.  I played 1cent and then on the last penny I initiated the bonus ( stopped the reels myself ) and on that bonus won $26.00  on a PENNY!

Another time at the casino I wanted to play one of the slot machines but it would not take my money because something was jammed inside. I got a slot attendant,  She opened the machine and pulled out a play slip she asked if it was mine and I said no.   I joked with her and said if your feeling generous.... she actually put the $140 some dollar slip into my slot machine!!!  I could not believe it and gave her a hug.

There has also been many times when I have needed some extra cash and the lord has blessed me with money in accounts I didn't know I had or miraculously money shows up somewhere else.  I believe it is the Lord helping me and not luck.  I don't know how much he approves of me being at a casino but I believe he still could use it to to help me out because he knows I always help others.

What are some things that have happened in your life that could have been luck or divine intervention?

I used to go to a camp (although about the only thing that could make it  a "camp" is lack of tv and it's mostly located in the woods. lol) for kids that have Cystic Fibrosis and/or Asthma. There, the staff somtimes drive golf carts .

Twice....TWICE (although not in the same year) when the group I was in was walking on the sidewalk past the cafeteria , I got hit by someone driving one of the golf carts. Luckily, front ends are sloped enough so that I just slid right onto the cart instead of getting run over or flying backwards.

Not only did it happen twice in those years I went to that camp, it happened in the same freakin area of the sidewalk, at nearly the same time of day, on the same day of the week...and I swear the same people were driving the cart BOTH TIMES!

W.....T.....F?!!! LOLLOLLOLLOL

So I guess that's both a little bit of good luck AND bad luck all during the same events. lol

Oh and when I was a little kid, my sis and I were sparring in Taekwondo class. I accidentally let my guard down....and she punched me across the floor. (luckily it was a punch to the stomach, not the face. ) I didn't really feel it.

Years ago when I sparred in a full-contact TKD tournament, I tried blocking a roundhouse kick from a guy who's thighs were as big as my chest, with the traditional karate/tkd style downward block-- BAD IDEA.

He must've struck one of those "pressure points" because I couldn't move my arm worth a damn for about 2 minutes --I thought it'd been broken. Luckily it ended up being just badly bruised. lol

Last year on Memorial Day weekend, I was driving to work early on Saturday morning  when, as I was driving on a back street going about 10 mph, the left lower ball joint on my truck gave out & the left front end collapsed. The frame went straight down on top of the tire & the truck stopped dead in it's tracks in the middle of the street.

I had to call my boss & tell him I wouldn't be in to work that day & then get a tow truck to come & tow me back home since all the garages were closed for the holiday weekend.

I had just gotten off the interstate highway about 2 blocks & a half a minute earlier.

Had it happened about a minute sooner, I would've been traveling on the interstate about 65 mph. The way the truck frame came down on top of the left front tire, at that speed the truck would've rolled & I would've either been severely injured or quite possibly killed.

Had that one part not held on for that one last minute.... I literally came within about half a minute & a couple of blocks of very possibly becoming a parapalegic or a corpse.

I shiver everytime I think about it.

I don't believe in divine intervention, just fate and luck. Spend enough time in a casino, even with a rosary, and I doubt you'll come out ahead.

Because if God is hanging out with you and providing extra nickels and lost receipts, he's clearly not paying attention to what's going on in Darfur, Chile or Haiti. I'm pretty sure there are some devoutly religious people in those countries.

Pardon me for saying that it's a little tacky and insulting to insinuate that "God" feels you deserve the money. I'm going with great luck in that case.

My Ex not being pregnant 3 months after she wanted to have kids and then decided to split.

Divine intervention or that little voice in my head saying, "Get off Facebook. It's for teenagers and people with no lives." I did, and never felt better.

While I don't think God micromanages my life, I nevertheless thank him when good things happen (or when bad things don't).  Hey, who knows?  On the other hand, I don't curse or blame him when things go bad.  I think it helps one to count one's blessings and be appreciative of things in general...even if it all turns out to just be the result of luck.

The "Signs" are all around you; We believe that.
And yes - I KNOW, over many years, we have had any number of 'incidents' and 'accidents' that we simply cannot explain - things happen that make NO sense.
I'm convinced - like it or not - SOMEBODY is watching over you.
I'd suggest all know that and be thankful.

I used to work at a factory that drilled/prepared the heads to the caterpillar engines.  I was at a (CNC?) machine and I was new. My job was to clean up the sludge that came out of the machines.  Well I was not paying attention too well to where I was standing and the machine was moving and someone jumped on the conveyor belt and pulled me up or else I would have been smooshed.
