Looks ok. I've enjoyed the books titled the Annotated Alice, which have margin notes to explain the various things going on in the story. I'll give the movie a viewing. It'll be the first Disney movie I've bothered with in years. (added note) I don't know if this was a nation wide ad, or just a local insert, but I saw it during an ad break while watch The Game, so I suppose it qualifies for posting. Sorry if I'm wrong about it.

It was nationwide...I saw it too.  I was planning on seeing it anyhow..

I will agree with that...looks more geared to adults than the previous Disney version.  It is supposedly going to be in 3D as well.

In the first few seconds, before it became obvious, I thought that maybe it was a promo for The Hobbit, as it looked very much like many scenes from Lord of the Rings. But of course, the Cheshire Cat is unmistakable! And I thought I might have caught a glimpse of a Jaberwock in there. Certainly the Red Queen.

The Jabberwock and the Vorpal Sword both seemed to make an appearance.  I cannot wait for this movie!

Always loved the Alice in Wonderland tale(s).  I could not watch Johnny Depp in the latest Willie Wonka flick...was too creepy... I hope this does not follow suit.  Those lens on Johnny look really creepy.  I love the way Helena looks and acts as the Red Queen..I bet she's perfect for it!  She was great in Sweeney Todd!

After Burton botched 'Charlie' (he should have paid homage to the original, much better film instead of bad-mouthing it) I have no interest in seeing 'Alice'. And when is it ever going to be called by its real title, 'Alice's ADVENTURES in Wonderland'?????????

waaait he bad mouthed it? His whole purpose was to honor Roald Dahl in all of this. I never thought he talked bad of the original.

It'll probably have a strong 'PG' Rating, but since it looks darker than "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", it might flirt with a 'PG-13' Rating.

I'm a little tired of Tim Burton's "look how creepy and dark and macabre my movies are" schtick.

I'd like to see this on acid.  Unfortunately, at this point, I think I'm going to have to settle for seeing it on Centrum Silver with Anti-Oxidants.

Latest Tim Burton/Johnny Depp effort.
It will be good.
We're going - hopefully, it will be in IMAX 3D.

He bad-mouthed the original film, with Gene Wilder, not the book (and where's the movie of the sequel, "Charlie and the Great Glass elevator", anyway??). I thought Wilder would have been perfect for the Grandpa Joe role in the remake.

Ugh. I have no desire to see this movie or any movie Tim Burton does. His stuff always looks the same - too creepy and macabre. And why is Johnny Depp always in his movies along with that freak show Helena Bonham-Carter? Are the three of them involved in some creepy threesome? Or are they bound together for life to make seemingly harmless stories into scary fantasies? Ecch!

Sure, Moochy...Burton IS always 'dark'...Depp has worked with him since 'Day 1', so it seems.
I find his work 'interesting'; by nature, guess I love seeing where one's mind can go - no matter where...

I saw this thing on the making of the original it on one of the special edition dvds and was happy to see Dahl did the framework for the adaptation and was even present as a consultant on the film site. I was saddened to hear that near the end they consulted him less and less and changed things and in the end he hated the movie and was quite bitter. The sequel never came to be due him refusing the rights.

I've grown kind of tired of the Burton/Depp collaborations and Burton's style in general. Doubt I'll see this freak show. Seriously, he really needs to find some new faces for his movies. The actors he chooses are generally talented, but it does get old.

And as much as I adore Alan Rickman and his amazing voice, the pictures released of that caterpillar scare the ever living crud out of me.
