Disapprove Steven Tyler and Aerosmith are one of the bands that ruined rock & roll by creating 'Kiddie Rock' with their 'Brat-Boy Band'.  I don't like using the word 'hate' - I save it for very special thinhs like Aeorsmith.

And wouldn't you know it! Tiffany & Company - you know, the competition for Dollar Tree for those living in The Hamptons, comes along and uses one of the shiattiest songs ever written ('Dream On') for their 2018 Holiday Commercial. I dislike it so much that I'm NOT going shopping at Tiffany's anymore!

I agree, they were the 'Nickleback' of the 70s.  All about the money.  They DID make some pretty good music too.

Maybe you were just a few years too old for Aerosmith, Pa.  My bro doesn't relate either (his coming-of-age era was more the late 60s), just as I never related to KISS, which at time was more for the freshman kids.

Thumbs Up I like your brother already.
I figured you for a 'Kiss' lover since I know you like 'Grand Funk Railroad'. You know - 'Like putting lipstick on a pig guitar player who knows three chords'.
Having said that, *I* never liked 'Kiss', yet even I would take GFR over Aerosmith any day. You know what? I bet Tiffany & Company would make a 'Kiss' commercial, if 'Kiss' recorded a tune they could use.

I was 15 when GFR got big, 20 when KISS had their huge hit.  Big difference there.  Besides, to me, KISS was a third-rate Alice Cooper (someone else who you probably don't like).

Also...nothing wrong with three chords.  Lou Reed, however, once said  "One chord is fine. Two chords is pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz."

'Alice Cooper' may as well been named 'Sue', back then. 'Eighteen' was little more than a screaming sh*tfit. These days? Alice Cooper is a good conservative whiteboy with an awfully good XM radio show.
