No, I'm not that good. I worked with a group of chefs who catered many celebrity affairs in the NYC area. I also worked in a couple of restaurants in NYC, before I came to my senses and retreated for a more stable lifestyle.

I don't know. We make fun of the people in commercials all the time. What I said didn't even have any profanity in it; just a play on a famous saying about some women who look like they've been around the block a few times (there, that's another way of saying it).
As for flaming, I just suggested Jimbo not get into an argument with someone who posted something snarky to him about one of his posts about doctors knowing or not knowing information on the diseases they treat. Whatever. BTW, aka ron has posted he likes some women in the ads and I have pointed out that they were a little chubby and he said he liked that. I also told him PM of my dieting escapades. I was not putting aka ron down.

I think I can safely speak for just about everyone here when I say we all support you 100% DRS. You and Virginia Dare have greatly added to the fun and appeal of coming here to post and banter. This is a blip on the screen that will pass barely noticed and we'll move on. |

Gordo is a big mouthed, overrated twat! As for watching Hell's Kitchen, I don't. When you have that experience behind you, you don't need to see it duplicated on telly.

Don't worry, it's common for a forum thread to go off-topic on a tangent. It's bound to happen.

Especially at CIH.
We're not big sticklers for that kind of rigid conformity around here. It always ends up being more fun when things just stray off into whichever direction they go. |

So, Jimmy, ever get the urge to cook up a rat really fancy & serve it to some of those celebrities, or even Gordo, without telling them what it is? Bet they'd ooh & ah over it...

I think he meant Gordon whenever I hear "Gordo" I think of the Great Dane in the Febreze ads.

You just made me think of an old Monty Python sketch about rat pudding. Whenever I cooked for high profile celebs, (mainly who I deal with now are sports figures in the Philly/ New York region), we always use the best, top shelf ingredients. As far as I'm concerned, the food is the bigger celebrity than the stiffs we serve.....

Hey now, back on topic. I like Cyndi Lauper. My husband brought home her "At Last" recording from some years ago -- straightforward saloon-singer renderings of songs popular when she was a kid. Really nice. She has actual chops.

she always seemed to have more talent than Madge, but hat Joisey wrestler persona and lack of career direction derailed her from true icon status..Madge has always been better at self promo
both are pretty old hags now though..stardom of any sort is no escape from DAMNABLE AGE |
