I've listened to a bunch of her stuff this morning...THIS might WILL make my 'Buy' list! She must be a David Lynch follower.

I haven't been posting in this thread very much.  There must not be too much good music coming out now.  That, and PaW isn't around anymore. We had our history of spats but we liked the same music.

I like this one too.  I like the guitar work at 2:17

Not bad. Not bad at all.

I also like that Eilish song. It's made even better with the actual video.

A lotta Randy Newman. Maybe a little bit of The Band.

Pretty good.

I don't really hear Randy Newman in there, but definitely 60's Bob Dylan and The Band.

Maybe even a little hint of Grateful Dead.

Sounds to me like the kind of music that would be more fun to play than to listen to.

The similarity to Newman's voice struck me immediately. At first, I even thought that's who it was.

But my bro mentioned the Dead, too.

I heard that on the non-commercial station I listen to.

This weekend, there've been a lotta Mike Nesmith/Monkees tributes---a lotta stuff I never heard before.

I remember back in the early 80's, he wrote a song and did a video that got some air play on MTV.

The reason he never joined in with the Monkees reunion tours was because being an independently wealthy multimillionaire, he didn't need the money.

He was the only child of the woman, an industrial chemist, who invented and patented Liquid Paper typewriter correction fluid.

After she passed away, he inherited his mother's fortune which was said to be around $40 million.

Ahh, yes. The Liquid Paper fortune. Looks like he still has all that...plus another 10 mil.

You might've heard this song at some point:

Never heard that one.

A bit on the "slow" side for my taste.

I think he was a music producer after the Monkees.

This was the early 80's MTV song and video I was talking about....

Never saw or heard that. Kinda not bad, though.

Hmmmmmmm..... 🤔

Not sure if it belonged in either thread.

Is there a "Worst Thing You've Seen Or Heard Lately" thread?

Cuz that would be the right one.

And why is it over five minutes long???

I kept on waiting for it to either get funny or end, but it refused to do either.

Musically, I knew immediately it would never evolve into being "worth a listen" though.

I could tell that ship had sailed within the first five or ten seconds.

Well, it was a love story that needed to be told. Most such love stories take 2+ hours.

I thought it was pretty funny. I thought the Kim Jong Un guy looked spot-on.

This might be my favorite current artist.

Pretty interesting.

The video makes the song though.

Not sure what I'd think of it by itself.

Yeah, I agree. That's why I said "favorite artist" rather than favorite music or song. There's a number of artists like that for me.

I like how the front man is such a total schlump, and apparently, doesn't give a damn.

Even live, their vids are good:
