So its been almost a week and not a single Daily Show has been aired not even a repeat! Where are you Jon? I need your funny and smart commentary! It doesn't help that Bill Maher is off for a couple weeks too!

You know Jon is gone for good in a couple weeks, right?

Yep August 6th is his last day! Then Trever Noah takes over. I don't know what to think about that. |

I can't either. Larry Wilmore is completely unfunny. I like Jon Stewart, but I'll tell you who I miss... Colbert.

Losing the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the Colbert Report is a serious interuption in my Comedy Central experience.
Maybe Amy Schumer will come over here and make it better.

Bwwhahahahahahaha! I'm sorry any Wlmore fans but he pales in comparison to the hilarity of Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report! What he did on that show was genius! I miss it dearly. I don't think Colbert on CBS will fill that hole either. Also the Nightly show open music sucks too, unoriginal! Lame! |

Couple more months & Colbert will return as David Letterman's replacement. Personally, I would have rather seen Stewart in that job. I think he is more "Dave like" than Colbert. |

I still remember my first experience with The Daily Show it was dark in a house overlooking Avon, it was 1999, the hilarious 2000s hype was full blown, the opening featured the Twin Towers of the WTC. I remember laughing my ass off at the absurd comedy going on. Back then the show was a full hour of of this stuff. Not the half hour stuff today. I still remember the old blue and purple set with the globe outline. They still had the pink/purple couch. Those were the days!

I remember when the tag line for that show was "When news breaks, we fix it!!".
Might still be. It's been years since I've watched it. |

Before that even.
I think it goes back to the 90's when Craig Kilborn was the host. |

I'm a farm boy, I'm in bed way too early for Late Night. I always caught Colbert the next night during dinner. Stewart going to Late Night and Colbert keeping his show would have worked just fine for me, too, but it's a good career move for Colbert. Happy for him, in a "sad for me" kinda way. |

I'm sure Colbert will be funny & I look forward to his nightly monologue, but Stewart would have been less of a stylistic change, I think.
Squint a little & use your imagination & Stewart is very similar to Dave. Does that "dumb guy" shtick like Letterman did pretty good, too. One of my favorite "Dave things". |
