I just don't get this one.

The guy looks deranged, but what are they trying to accomplish here?

Are they saying only deranged weirdo's carrying running chainsaws purchase VW's?

Why does the weirdo say, "it's hot in here"?

Is this a tribute to a weird slasher movie?

I don't watch that sort of rubbish, so it may be.

I just hate this stupid ad. Does anyone else hate it?

I thought it would be a reference to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Movie, but now that I think of it I don't know what they're trying to do with this ad.
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

I hate it too! I noted the name the weirdo signs and googled it, but could not find anything related. The company thinks their customers are dumb@sses anyway to not understand the difference between sign AND drive vs. sign THEN drive - which is the whole point of their campaign.
